Default Would I be allowed to keep Doctor prescribed ear plugs when I go to prison?

I didn't mean during a visit, my thread was re-titled. IT's OK but what i mean is upon entering prison.

In 1981 I had a severe head injury, and have ever since been extremely sensitive to sound. I can hardly stand a restaurant if it's very quiet, a noisy one requires me to use high quality laboratory/industrial ear plugs. I have a diagnosed condition called Hyperacusis. Also have really bad ringing in the ears.

So when you report to prison, you can't really take anything inside with you except prescription items, and a few other things. Certainly can't take some ear plugs.
Wondering if I got my doctor to prescribe ear plugs, and brought them in their prescribed packaging, how that would go over? I bet they'd laugh and say "nice try". No idea really if it's a good idea to even try. Thoughts?

Worth a shot? Otherwise I'll go crazy with the noise. And not one soul on this earth will care.

The commissary sells ear plugs. Most inmates that I know use them for sleeping, and I'm pretty sure they're relatively inexpensive ($1/pair).

I doubt they'd let you bring in prescription ones unless they were custom made and the doc could give a viable reason for why the ones they sell at the commissary wouldn't be good enough.

I have overly sensitive hearing also, and wear ear plugs a lot. I know your pain and wish you luck with that!
