Default Continuing Lockdown in 29-J, Death Row, Parchman

There has been a lockdown in place for approximately two and a half weeks. It is now becoming more serious.

Prisoners are now being denied stamps! If my understanding is correct, This is a First Amendment issue and they cannot do such a thing.

There are no visits (the last 3 visits), no canteen, no privileges whatsoever. Food in this prison is scarce, insect infested, and inadequate in amounts. No one could live on what these men are given.

It is as if they've been tossed and thrown away. There have been myriad lockdowns since the new Commissioner has taken office. He believes in 'collective' rather than 'individual' punishment. Yes, contraband was found, however, not in this unit. I do understand a lockdown during the investigation, however, we're beyond it now.

The situation is explosive. Could someone let me know of rights these men have. Surely, this cannot fall within the discretion of prison officials. It has become a gulag.

Two and a half weeks without stamps does not rise to a constitutional breach. Certain activities, to include purchases through commissary and things like visitation, can indeed be suspended in the name of security.
