Unhappy So Who is the REAL Threat....N. Korea is up to 'something'...IMO

SEOUL, South Korea —

Quote:
North Korea said Wednesday that it had reactivated its nuclear facilities and was going ahead with their operation "on a normal footing."

The communist country will use the facilities to generate electricity "at the present stage," an unidentified North Korean Foreign Ministry spokesman said. His remarks were carried by the official KCNA news agency.

"The DPRK is now putting the operation of its nuclear facilities for the production of electricity on a normal footing after their restart," the spokesman said. DPRK stands for Democratic People's Republic of Korea.

"The DPRK government has already solemnly declared that its nuclear activity would be limited to the peaceful purposes including the production of electricity at the present stage," the spokesman said.

However, U.S. officials and nuclear experts say the amount of electricity that North Korea can produce at its nuclear facilities is negligible. The facilities at Yongbyon, north of Pyongyang, were the center of a suspected nuclear weapons program in the 1990s.

The North Korean spokesman criticized U.S. efforts to bring the nuclear dispute to the U.N. Security Council, saying the matter is between the North and the United States only.

"If the U.N. Security Council responsible for the issue of world peace and security does not call the U.S. wrong Korean policy to task, this organization will turn out to be partial and the DPRK will, accordingly, not recognize it," the spokesman said.

North Korea, which often accuses Washington of plotting to invade it, said in December that it would reactivate a 5-megawatt Soviet-designed reactor that was frozen under a 1994 energy deal with Washington.

The facilities at Yongbyon include a building that stores 8,000 spent fuel rods and a reprocessing laboratory, where the North Koreans can extract weapons-grade plutonium from the spent fuel rods.

Last week, U.S. officials said spy satellites have detected covered trucks apparently taking on cargo at the storage facilty where spent nuclear fuel rods are stored. If the rods are processed, enough plutonium can be extracted to make several nuclear weapons, U.S. officials have said.

Oh good Lord... I hope Georgies aides can circle North Korea on the map for him. Dubya's likely to hit Canada if he's the triggerman.

I have copies of the sattelite photos if anyone wants to see them. This facility is used for one reason only & that is the production of nuclear material. If North Korea isn't stopped soon, they will have several nuclear bombs & the ability to deliver them to the US. They don't have this ability just yet, but they are very, very close. If they start launching satelites in the near future you will know that time is up. North Korea has no qualms about using their nuclear capability to blackmail their way to get what they want. They can currently attack So. Korea, Japan, The Phillipines & Australia. They have a mentaly unbalanced leader who unlike Sadam would take his country, & himself down the road to nuclear anniahlation. No. Korea represents a far greater threat than Iraq ever has, & they have for years. They have bankrupted their country to keep up a million man army, & they now realize that their army isn't as much of a threat as it once was, so they need a new club to raise against the world. This & Chinas intentions towards Taiwan are the most dangerous things facing this country today.--------Ken

I agree with you Ken. I had read this earlier and I'm thinking what the ______???

As the United States considers beefing up its military around the Korean peninsula, North Korea's leader visited a naval base and praised the unit's sailors as "human bombs" defending socialism, the North's state media reported Tuesday.

Kim Jong Il inspected a naval unit at an undisclosed location on Monday and was satisfied with the unit's combat readiness, the KCNA news agency said.

Kim commended the unit's sailors, who he said have been trained as "invincible fighters" armed with "the spirit of becoming human bombs and the spirit of blowing oneself up as their invariable faith," said the agency's report, monitored by South Korea's Yonhap news agency.

On Tuesday, meanwhile North Korea accused the United States of beefing up its military presence around the Korean Peninsula to "crush" the North.

I agree with you Ken, 110%. N. Korea is a situation that must be dealt with both because they have been black mailing everyone too long, and because they of all people don't need true Nukes.
I don't think everyone understands the mind set of these people. They don't look at human life as most of the world does.
This is a bit off topic, but does anyone read Tom Clancy? He has focused on the Korea's, China and that region for a while now.. Interesting reading, even if "fictional". Tom does a LOT of researching for his books..

I'm up for a good book, David. Can you give me a particular title of one of his books that you are referring to? It's been awhile, but I've read a couple of his books and they are very good!

Welcome to Kim Jong Il's North Korea Fan Club!

Most people are under the misconception that North Korea is an oppressive nation
that commits attrocities against its populace and terrorizes its neighbors.
Nothing could be further from the truth! North Korea is paradise on Earth!
Lot's of people foolishly believe that Kim Jong Il is a scrawny little tyrant
trying to fill his big fat bloated swine father, Kim Il Sung's shoes.
Proposterous! He is a big guy deep down inside, full of jolly good fun!
Under his devine leadership, North Koreans live in Utopia!
We, the growing numbers of Kim Jong Il's fans worldwide, seek to show the ignorant
masses of humanity the wisdom that the great leader Kim Jong Il radiates like the
brightest star in the heavens! So bask in the testimony of this page to the greatness
of that glory of the North. And by the way, death and misery to the Yankee Imperialists
and their groveling puppet dictators in the illegally occupied south half of our noble
penninsula! May they rot with dripping maggots like the traitors in our utterly sensible
re-education facilities, where dissenters benefit from the virtues of a starvation diet
while expending their vile lives in our glorious coal mines!

CONTENTS

North Korean Women
North Korean Food
North Korean Hospitality
The Mystical Toilet Apparition Of Shiphal Nome
The Glorious North Korean Language

All of these wonderful subjects shall be dealt with on one page,
not because they do not each deserve volumes of books to be written about them,
but because we cannot afford more than one page. (That is why we must rely on a free page host.
The cost to have a page hosted on a pay site is more than the GNP of our great nation)

North Korean Women

North Korean women are the most beautiful women in the world. This is a known fact in Asia.
They have been coveted by every filthy foreigner for as long as the secret of their existance
has been known to the outside. It is believed that they are one of the main reasons that
through out history, so many nations have tried to invade and control the glorious homeland.
The puppet dogs in the south wish with every breath that they might have women as beautiful
as those angelic creatures found in the North. For this reason, the foreigners try in vain to
control the land that produces creatures so heavenly that they can bear such handsome sons.
It is a widespread belief that Kim Jong Il's mother was one of the most beautiful women in
the history of the world. How else could she have a son as pleasant to behold as our great
leader, Kim Jong Il?!

North Korean Food

There have been rumors of famine in North Korea, circulated by the puppet liars from the South
and by the imperialist yankee dogs who should die a wretched death after long suffering. These
rumors are totally false! North Korean food is known by everyone to be the most nutritious
of any substance on this earth. North Korean cuisine is an art that no other culture can ever
hope to equal. Just watch any of the fascinating North Korean television broadcasts that are
seen daily on the world leader of media, North Korean Broadcasting Service. Your deprived mouth
will surely be drooling with the wish that you can taste just one bite of North Korean cooking,
even though you die the next instant. In fact, one of North Korea's proverbs, from among the many
wise proverbs that these clever people alone can coin, says in effect, that "Should two men eat
North Korean food, and one of them die, the other would not notice". Perhaps this is the origin
of the perverse lies about starvation and famine in North Korea. But even in their lies, the
propaganda artists of the Western imperialist barbarians acknowledge the superiority of North
Korean cooking. Only the skill of North Korean cuisine can make cannibalism so appealing to the
palate. But of course there is no cannibalism in North Korea. The food is so healthful that
it has been documented that the average North Korean life expectancy is nearly three hundred
years!

North Korean Hospitality

North Koreans are the friendliest people in the world. The lies about their cruel nature is not
believed by anyone but the puppets in the South who should be broiled in their own mother's blood.
North Koreans are very happy people who always smile and welcome everyone with open arms.
And North Koreans never turn in their own family members as political criminals to government
torture agencies for their own personal gain. This is just another lie spread by the imperialist
worms who cannot understand human kindness and who should have their brains kicked out of their heads
by a mob of crazed farmers who are angered over the lack of provisions for their families due to the
terrible mismanagement of food which is so common in the nations under the yoke of Western imperialism.

The Mystical Toilet Apparition Of Shiphal Nome

In the small but very happy North Korean village of Shiphal Nome, near the border with the
occupied southern portion of the homeland, there was an incident that proved to the world
the glorious future of the North. A farmer by the name of Kae Sek Ki built a new outhouse on the
land where the glorious forces of the North once defeated the imperialist invaders. A great communist
hero gave his blood in the very spot where the new outhouse was built. One year from the day
when the outhouse was built a wind blew from the south and knocked the outhouse over. It was discovered
that all of the poo had fallen to the North! Clearly, even the lowly things of the world lean
to the glory of the North!

The North Korean Language

The language of the wise North Koreans is the purest language known to the tongue of mankind!
That is why the vulgar words from foreign languages are never used in North Korea. What is this
ICE CREAM? ICE CREAM? I do not know the meaning of this primitive word. Ise Gaekie...is that what these
savages from the West mean to say?

My grandfather had an acute understanding of the thinking of those he called the "yellow" man.

He figured at some point in time, they would march across countries, taking what they wanted and when one fell, 4 would take his place because of the vass numbers of them, much like the Roman warriors of yesteryears.

Taking his thoughts, and combinding what's available today in military might gives the possiblity of becoming true.

Yes, N. Korea is a delimma and if dealt with military force, there's China to deal with IMO

The last time I had the time to read Clancy was when I was locked up. I do want to say this about him. He is very well connected, & respected in the military, & intelligence community. His books are very well researched, & he excells at being accurate. David you said the magic word, "Fiction". Because he intersperses fiction with fact it's hard for many to discern between what is real, & what isn't. I remember after "Clear & Present Danger" I ran into many people who thought we acctually could watch attacks they way they did in the movie with satelites. In the book & movie they watched it from a sattelite which we still don't do, but we have developed the ability to do it from Predetors & other UAV's. He also dispelled the myth of a satelite to read the writing on a cigarette pack or the license plate on a car. What we have are very good, but we can't, nor do we want to do all that. Anyway, Clancy is excellent for people who aren't all that familiar with the military, & intelligence fields to become more informed about them.

Great post Phil

David hit on the thing that concerns me more than anything else & thats the mind set they have in No. Korea. It is beyond fanatical, & make Osama's followers look like a bunch of posers. B-Ray eludded to it too. These people won't be detered by Mutual Assured Destruction. Remember the tenacity of the Jappanese fighters in WWII, & multiply that by 10, & you'll have an idea of what we are dealing with.-------Ken

<<<<EVERYONE knows Texas has the most beautiful women in the world.

David Lee Roth, The Beach Boys, & I would argue this with you. "Cause I wish they all could be California Giiiiiirls" LOL, sorry couldn't resist.

Nah, Phil you deserve the Credit for the post. I'd be willing to bet that if we sat down & talked over drinks, we would probably agree on more things than we disagree on. At any rate, I enjoy hearing from someone who is inteligent, & can make a logical defense of their opinions, I respect it emensly.

Emme, & Pamela being called sweet, & a cutie pututie all in the same thread, well, I must be doing something right.

Phils earlier post reminds me of the propaganda that the old Soviet Union, & China would put out about their countries being workers paradises. The people in those countries just laughed at it, & would roll their eyes, & wonder how anyone would believe such drivel, as they were living in those countries & knew the truth. There were however people in other countries that actually bought into the hype, & that was it's purpose. To paraphrase an old Nazi, if your going to lie, lie big, & lie often. --------------Ken
