I'm quite new to this, so please bear with me here, lol.
I had called D.O.C to ask a question about early release for my husband & the lady I had spoken with told me he qualified for the Transition Program, which I've never heard of nor know what that consists of. She didn't explain too much of it either. When I spoke to my husband about it he had no clue what I was talking about.
Is there anyone here who would know anything of that? Thank you!
Hello & welcome to PTO! Whew! Took a minute to find anything, DOC's sure don't make it easy
Quote:
Transition Program (ARS§ 31-281, 31-282: SB1291/HB2298/SB1093) funding was established in 2003, via SB 1291 to provide reentry programming to non-DUI offenders. In 2009, legislation expanded eligibility to additional non-violent drug offenders through SB1093. This law stipulates that the Arizona Department of Corrections shall contract with a private or nonprofit entity to provide eligible offenders transitional services. Inmates may be released up to 90 days early in order to complete the program.
I found that ^^^^ in Programs - Contracts under Community Corrections. Here is that link:
