what special things did you do for your family before you left - that they would have while your gone? (Im gonna record messages for the holidays and their brithdays, end of school etc. also Im going to use a send it in the future email service to send them emails)
If I were in your shoes, I would mail in a money order into my commissary account a few days before self surrender date so that way I would have some money in my account to accomodate my needs and wants.
I would send myself a letter with a list of addresses that I would like to write to a couple of days before self surrender. So that way I would have addresses to write to than waiting for days to get a letter that has an address.
