Default Norse Tattoos

Politically correct ones... imagine that!

The chest one is "aegishjalmur" or "Helm of Awe," which is like a protection symbol they used historically. The waist one is Slepnir, Odin's 8-legged horse. That design is taken from an 8th century tapestry in Sweden. The shoulder is Odin's three horns.

i can't see the tattoo for some reason but i am a fan of norse tattoos. a friend of mine has an odin sleeve and bindrunes all over his chest. he also has the aegishjalmur symbol on the back of his neck. i am thinking of creating my own representation of the elder futhark in the future.

Nice. I have a hard time finding my tradition stated, Norse and asatru most closely resemble what I was taught but I have a hard time putting a label on it as I do most things. I love seeing true statements without hate put into expression. There is so much history. I am working on a sleeve with ravens, owls, nature, and the night sky. Depicting what my grandfather taught me. I am just now digging deeper into the words he spoke and it is becoming easier to find literature, because of the 'great' internet.
Anyways. Nice piece and love seeing history being told and remembered. Our history is not racist. Just a statement. And we can not be ashamed of it even tho some people are trying to make it a racist statement. Sorry. That was just a side note because I'm tired of trying to defend my beliefs when others are making it dirty. I guess that's why I have a hard time putting a label on it. It's just my history.

I have a Hulinshjálmur on my right lower arm.

Yggdrasil, Hugin & Munin are being planned right now.

It always warms my heart to see my heritage put forth as it is, instead of in the racist light. Ásatrú is not racist at all and it never was.

I think I'll get the Vegvísir at my left upper arm next. I like its meaning and well, a Hulinshjálmur simply needs a Vegvísir.

I have no idea how to post photos but I have a Mjollnir on my forearm as well as a celtic heart and shamrock on either side of the same wrist. Sunwheel (eye of Odin) in white on the top of the other wrist. Lots more in plans but gotta wait till my tattoo artist gets home
