Lightbulb What Are The Chances of My Boyfriend Making Parole?

My boyfriend is expected to make parole 4/2012 and is a first time drug offender. What's his status of making parole. He has been in since 8/09 and scheduled to be released 11/2013.

Hon, his chances of making parole are anybody's guess. Has he been free of any write ups? Is he going to have any letters of support from family? Does he have any job prospects when he gets out?

Default statistics

I haven't updated statistics since October 2011 so these numbers are for the first three quarters of 2011: The "grant rate" (including work release) ranged from 16% to about 25% for Angola, RCC, WCC, AVC and DCI. So, the bottom line is that achieving parole isn't a sure thing. As a first time drug offender, he stands a fair chance IF he has been doing what he needs to do while locked up: AA, education, etc.
As always, the above is NOT specific legal advice and is only a general statement of the issues and a general, non-specific statement of my opinion of the law. I do not give any legal advice without having met with the client and certainly not over the internet without an attorney client relationship.
