Default New Law 65% of time in Florida?

Hi, I have heard that there is a new bill and I have no idea what kind of bill it is that will make the prisoners here in Florida only have to do 65% of the time given to their sentence.I think it will be retroactive to the beginning of the bill or something like that.
Now,I don't know if it's for just the state of Florida or if it's a national bill or what.
If anyone knows what I'm referring to please feel free to email me or IM whatever works. If there are already threads about this bill I apologize for repeating as I'm new here. thankyou

I think this might be a rumor... my husband asked me to research this like 6 months to a year ago and I couldn't find any truth in it... If you google this question you will see it goes way back... I couldn't find it to be true, but if you can find out any info let me know!! I will look into it again cuz I am always hopeful to bring my husband home sooner... Let me know what you find out and I will do the same!

I heard of this, but could not find any information on it either. However, if they were to pass this bill "in fact IF it is one, only "new" inmates will fall up under it. However, I will also be looking into this and seeing if I can found something else out.

Always hopeful, but I feel like i looked into everything at least 5x... I think you are right about if it finally gets made a law, only the "new" inmates get to benefit, but again if anyone finds out anything let us know, cuz I am always hoping to hear good news....

Default Hr 1475

Yes. The legislation is HR 1475 and it would effect federal prisoners, proposing to increase good time allowances from 54 days to 120 a year.

I keep getting stopped from posting this news because I'm new; it won't let me give a link or it seems a website, but this is way too urgent, so I'm going to spell the website out phonetically to get by this website's foolish rule.

We only have until December 3 to call our US reps and senators. The website has the number to call at the US Capital and the talking points, under action alert. Call all your Reps and both senators. Every call is very important.

It's fedcure dot org

Please call today

thank you to all who replied. I am new at this and am really trying my hardest to find everything out I can. And yes, I agree not only for Federal but this needs to be at the State level also! With all the politicians complaining about costs and housing prisoners ya think they'd move abit faster to save money by passing this bill!!

In an effort to keep this thread on topic please confine discussion in this thread to the state of Florida legislation. That is what the OP asked about. The Federal legislation has nothing to do with Florida and there are several other threads on HR 1475
