I understand that there is a lot of passing of drugs and contraband in the prisons but when I go thru so much to visit and I can't even sit comfortable and lean on his shoulder or hold his hand or talk intimate or personal stuff with him it makes it hard. When he was a the USP the visits were not so strict and now he is at a medium. He has done 14 years of a 25 years sentence. We are trying to get him closer and soon that will happen.
That must be so frustrating to be so close to him and not be able to touch him or even hold hands! How much closer is he going to move? Have you been together the whole 14 years?

I am visiting him again in Feb. because I got ACCEPTED into grad school!!!! So I will be moving out of state and even further away from him. I know we will make it work...but it still makes it difficult. I applaud you ladies that are so far especially the ones in other countries! But hey, when you really care and love someone you are willing to make it work
Congrats on Grad school!!!!

Right now I am in Canada and he is in Kansas. A very expensive trip. Still, I am hoping to save and go see him in May.

My man is in Florida and I'm in Ohio. He's 755 miles/12.5 hours away from me and it sucks. Im going to visit him for the first time since he's been locked up this weekend. I'm so excited. We're looking into transfer information. If anyone knows anything, I'd appreciate any info

Default half way houses question

Hey! My husband is at FCI Sheridan and will go to a half way house (Lord willing) toward the end of the year..in the town where I am. Does anyone know if they let them have cell phones...if they have access to the internet...like to look for jobs...and how I stay in touch with him when he is there?

The whole not knowing thing is driving me nuts ..he says trust God for all of this..and I do..but I am still curious! thanks

My fiance is in California, I live in Kansas. We have agreed that any money spent on travelling would be a waste and could be better put towards our future.

I'm in Denmark, Europe. Visited my fiance for the first time in November 2014 and am going back for 3 months this summer. He's in Nevada.

No... but in my case it is as bad. I live near Detroit and even though he is in Michigan, my guy's prison is in the upper peninsula and over 10 hours away. I can make it to New York City in about the same time. 0_o lol

Take heart! It will be five years this April since I have seen him. We have been married 23 years...and he has been gone since 2009. I saw him when he was held for sentencing but not since he went after that. So be encouraged! God is taking great care of all of us!! And just keep praying!

I'm in Virginia and my husband is in NY. I've known him all my life, but we've only been a couple for 4 years. He's been my best friend for years. I just recently moved here to VA b/c we had plans to do so, and he wanted me to keep them.. It's been a lot harder than I thought being over 500 miles away..

My guy is in California and I'm in Georgia I haven't even been able to see or touch him in four years since he's been locked up because even when I go to California to visit I couldn't go see him due to some legal issues I have in that state. I'm hoping now when he's about to get transferred to prison that I get approved for visitation there because I miss him so much it kills me!

I used to live n Nevada. I would fly to New York every two months for a trailer visit. I did this for years. I had a flexible job and make great money. It was however exhausting . I know live 30 minutes away from him . I can do regular visits besides trailers. It's much more relaxed now. However I miss the desert a lot. Not a fan of snow!

My fiancé is in Arizona and I'm in Pennsylvania. I'm from out West originally, though, and am planning a move back so I can be closer to him and my family. He and I were apart for nine years before we got back into contact and I'm not letting him go again!

Absolutely.

It's a 12 hour straight drive... getting ready to make my first trip of the year since my car is not safe to drive over Donner Pass.

I am in the UK and he is in California. It's so hard because I want to be with him all of the time but the most I could do is twice a year.
