Default WOMEN - What Got You Locked Up and How Could It Have Been Prevented?

Hi Everyone,

My name is Courtney and I work in the field of forensic psychology. I am currently researching women who have been incarcerated in effort to develop ways to reduce recidivism. If you don't mind, I have a few questions...

1. How did you get involved in detention, probation, or other parts of the criminal justice system?

2. Can you think of ways that you were at risk for engaging in behaviors that resulted in your involvement in the criminal justice system?

3. Can you think of ways that you were or could have been protected from behaviors that resulted in your involvement in the criminal justice system?

Asking about behavior might be looking in the wrong place. You must know from the literature search you no doubt started with that their stories almost all start with childhood abuse.
