Default How long does a transfer to a Federal camp take?

I am new to this site and have a few questions. My husband is in Federal Prison at the FCI - Arkansas. He was originally schedule for Beaumont when Hurricane Irma hit and was eventually sent to Arkansas. He was originally suppose to be placed in a camp but due to some error in his paperwork that showed pending charges (which took 6 months to get cleared finally by the federal prosecutor) he was put in for a camp now. How long does a transfer like that take. Its already been 6 weeks. His release date is June 2019. HE says he can't get any info from the prison.

Welcome to Prison Talk and to the federal prison forums.

There is no way to predict how long it will take, or even if it will actually happen. His unit team case manager can tell him what his prison is doing to get him moved to a camp. If he doesn't find that to be satisfactory, he can file an inmate grievance to be moved to the correct security level prison. The problem with grievances, or even complaining too much is the power his unit team has to block, or delay any move if they are angry.

That is probably something you want his lawyer to work on with the BOP/US Marshals office to get done, otherwise they won't care.

I know with people going from camps to higher security prisons, they have been sitting in the SHU for about 4 months or so before moving up.
