But these last few days Ive had an awful sinus headache, I have Flonase it does not help, Allegra doesnt help, Im taking Advil Sinus Relief and hopefully it will start to kick in soon...Does anyone else get headaches so bad it leaves you sick to your stomache and you just want to lay dow, like all the energy has been sucked out of you?? Do any of you know a good home remedy that works as well??

I know exactly what you're going through. I have to see an Ear, Nose and Throat specialist because my sinuses are so bad. The only thing that helps when they get that bad are antibiotics and pain medication, usually prescribed by my doctor. If you can't get that, Tylenol Sinus works pretty good for me, coupled with some Advil or Motrin, a very, very, dark room and a nap.

Hope you feel better

Girl, I just went thru that myself, finally ended up going to the doctor cause nothing I was taking would help! Of course had a Sinus Infection and Bronchittis, but I'm feeling much better now. I couldn't take it anymore! Maybe you should get to the doctor and get on some antibiotics, that's the only thing that worked for me! Take Care!

Tylenol Sinus works best for me and works well!

Another thing I do is to warm my hands under hot water and press on my sinus cavaties. Its a bit painful, but it helps break up that "crap" and gets the draining going. Just press and hold for 10-20 seconds.

Sudafed (the red one) is supposed to be the best sinus med w/out a perscription - however, for some reason it gives me very vivid dreams, almost like nightmares.

I know the feeling. The good thing is I only get it the worst in the fall. But I get a sinus infection and loose my voice. I've used Tavist and Sudafed sinus nighttime/ pain relief. By the next day I was feeling ok, but not 100% yet. But it works.

My ENT told me to use Neo-Synephrine drops, in addition to any sinus meds you are taking. Lay on bed or couch on your back with head over the edge. Use the Neo-Synephrine drops and let them stay for as long as you can. When you get up blow your nose. Another home remedy is to boil a pan of water, put your face as close to the hot water as you can stand and drape a towel over your head and the pan to form a tent, then start rubbing your sinuses from above your eyes, down the sides of your nose and out to the sinuses that are just below your eyes, to get them to flow. Stay under the "tent" for as long as you can stand. You can also put a little eucalyptus oil in the water or Vicks vaporub. You can also mix kosher salt with water (I use a quart jar) and approximately 1 tablespoon of salt mixed in and periodically rinse your sinuses out with that. You can get a nose aspirator at the pharmacy (a little plastic, inexpensive, thing). Another thing that works well is using the nasal aspirator with an over-the-counter solution called Alkalol -- ask pharmacist as not all stores carry it. You fill the nasal aspirator with the Alkalol, tip your head back, fill your nose and sinuses and hold your head back for as long as possible to get it up in your sinuses and then blow your nose. I have found that aspirating the sinuses is the least fun and the most messy but also the most effective for relief. You can also use an over-the-counter nose spray such as Dristan, etc., but do not use it for more than three days; that is very important as you can actually become dependent on nasal solutions which can cause many many problems. Sorry this is so long but I have suffered for years and I feel bad for any one that suffers from sinus problems.

Well let me tell you, Go have a sinus MRI it will tell all! It will show any sinus blockages! I had two sinus surgeries to unblock and make new openings the first was by the eyesockets the 2nd is way in the back by the brain! I beleive it is the enviroment I live in! All the willows sage and polluns and stuff. A great recipe for helping to clear tthe sinuses before and after surgury is this

Pickling salt or coarse kosher salt about 2 tbls and arm and hammer baking soda 1 to 1/2 teaspoon with 1 quart of warm water mixed yp then take a nose or ear bulb syringe and squeeze it slowly up into your nostrils and nasa cavity. Let it flow out do this 4xs a day. It's a medical irrigation prescription a ear nose and throat specialist will give u anyway. Do not swallow any (not harmful) just taste nasty cause it tends to run back in the throat!! Let me know how it goes ok good luck!!!
