Default Now I'm the one waiting...Sept 2017 TPM

In the past I have replied to people's posts asking about TPMs and final parole dates, but I could only answer with certainty questions about the part of the parole process I had experience with my loved one. Now I'm nearing the end and living with the same day by day uncertainty others have had.

9 months ago we started put together a parole application with the help of an attorney. My loved one's PED was on September. 8, 2017 and due to her offense we were told that the Board would not vote on a TPM until on or after the PED which was set by statue to 1/3 of her 10 year sentence. With the parole application we petitioned for an early vote with the hopes that worst case we could get her at least heading to a TC.

It took almost 5 months to pull together the application because there were records to be collected so we could answer the tough questions we knew the board would have about my loved one's case. The parole attorney, Victoria Smith, was involved in pulling together and drafting the application, but we did as much work as we could to help.

We didn't assume she would get paroled on or even near her PED even though she has no DRs, a closed case plan, a very good job/detail review and several other positives including a job offer in writing. We didn't even assume we would get a TPM until a month or two or longer after her PED.

However, the Board granted our request and voted early and set her TPM for the month of her PED at the end of July. They also applied all 12 of her PIC points, which in theory would have set her release in September 2016, but her offense carried a statutory 1/3 serve requirement (in this case 40 months). So now we have just been waiting for a final release/parole date. Like so many others we are just calling and asking questions, but not getting any answers yet. The local DCS office has not been notified so we think the hold up might be at the Board. Not sure. Again we don't know if the final review has been completed or if there is just a hold up in the paper work. As side note my loved one has not yet received a letter notifying her that a TPM had been set. Her consular was able to see the TPM has been set in the system and she is one that told my loved one. A few days later the online system showed the TPM date too.

I now understand how others who have gone through this process felt. We are just rolling with things now on a day by day basis. It's amazing she is coming home, but it will be great when we know the day!

Tapatalk alerts me on subjects posted by people I am following so it gave me the heads-up on this.

Man, it would be great to know the actual day at this point, but the journey is almost over. Hopefully they will give the final clearance soon and she'll be out that gate and back in the world with all of you who care so much about her.
