Visitation Suspended at North Carolina State Prisons (COVID-19 Precaution)
Visitation Temporarily Suspended at State Prisons as a COVID-19 Precaution
The North Carolina Division of Prisons will suspend visitation to all the state’s prisons effective Monday, March 16 to minimize the health risks from the spread of coronavirus.
We are not aware of any cases of COVID-19 in our Prison system. However, ensuring staff health and safety is a top priority for the Division of Prisons. On March 10, 2020, Governor Roy Cooper declared a State of Emergency based on the public health emergency created by COVID-19.
I cannot wait until Cov19 go away! I had a visit scheduled for tomorrow and now I cannot go on my weekly visits. He said at the bottom of the notice it said that they will give an update in 30days. So that means no visits for over a month probably. But we are troopers and we can get through this. I would rather not have visits than for anybody within the prison system to catch the virus that a visitor brought in.
