Under Colorado law, what makes a person an habitual offender
I'm wondering how the 3 strikes law in Colorado works? Do all three felony offenses have to occur within a certain amount of time? Do they all have to be the same thing - like all drug charges? Or sex offender charges?

Thanks...
No, just 3 felonies. My husband got 2 felonies (prior to this case) - one when he was 19 and one when he was 35 and then this one - when he was 40. All were different classes and different kinds of charges.
Okay... Thanks Nancy. I had read that in some states if its more than ten years, it isn't considered "habitual", but that wasn't the case with your husband it seems.

It's not the case in Colorado. Same thing (similar) happened to a friend of ours.
