How long for a release date after parole is approved? TX Prisons
my son already made parole , the parole officer already came to my house to make sure he will be able to live here, but nobody seems to know when he's comeing home, help PLEASE.
No one can accurately predict these dates. Because it is discretionary parole, rather than mandatory or long-way discharge, there is no legally required date. could be tomorrow, could be 6 months from now. They will let him know once a date has been determined.
Well, Mark, if they have approved his parole address it is not likely to be six months. However, it is true that no one will be able to give an exact answer to your question. As MrsMorelock said you are pretty muchy relegated to calling the parole board periodically to find out if they have set a released date. Or, you can watch his TDC online information page which will display the release date once it is set. We may be able to give you a better general idea of how long you might have to wait if we knew what type of parole he was granted. Some parole votes, such as an FI-3 or FI-6, come with a "no sooner than" date that must pass before they will set a release date while an FI-1 would be just however fast they can get around to it.
