He was caught trying to cash money orders made out to inmates then they found drugs in his car. He didn't take anything into the prison. At least if he did the article didn't mention it.

talk about stealing from the poor.....
He really deserves to be punished for being so stupid to think he could actually get away with this....didnt he think that the family members and the inmates would figure out something was really wrong....

As far as they know! If he can steal an inmates money i am sure he was probably taking drugs in also. How did he think he wasn't going to get caught. Greed, it's a shame.

Ah, you are just assuming he was. I thought you thought the article was about him taking stuff in. My bad.

No prob Sgt. I know there was a co in lancaster that did this about 5 years ago. An inmate snitched on him and he was set up and they busted him. Sad thing was he had just got done adopting 4 kids from the county and ended up in prison himself. he was taking cell phones in and I know this was a true story because he was our next doro neighbor.

Oh, I believe it. I have seen more than my share of staff get walked off for similar things.

You know, I can almost understand how staff who are in love with inmates or who are hooked on drugs can get caught up in that crap. Almost. It is still wrong but at least they have some sort of excuse. But I have absolutely no idea how any sane person working in a prison can just throw their career/freedom/life away just for a few dollars. I just don't get it.

I wonder how many more of these cases are needed before the CDCR is going to buy a clue and put their employees throught the same scans and searches as the visitors...

YapYap I agree with you completley.....
SGT....love is no excuse for doing something illegally, you know it's wrong and what you could possibly loose out weights the love stuff....my opinion...
now drug addicts I agree they loose all sense of reality....they need medical help more than they need prison...
