Default Short way without program completion/Updated...

Just wanted to see if anyone has an idea what the likelihood of my husband being released on his short way without completing his program is. I have not been able to get a consistent answer from TDCJ, shocking, I know.

His short way is on the 22nd of this month and his program completion is supposed to be in mid October, I think. He hasn't had any major cases or drops in line class. If there is any other info that might be helpful let me know.

He won't be released because he has already been approved for parole. He will finish his program and then get his release certificate and be released. He will be home for the holidays!

Thank you for responding. That is what I thought too but he is telling me that he has personally seen several people in his program leave on their short way without having completed their program. I am very hesitant to believe that he will be home this month but he insists that he is. I guess we will know soon enough...

It really is crazy! And I feel like no one within TDC knows what is going on. If he is released on his PRD I will be sure to update here just in case anyone has the same question/experience.

Depends on what the program is too. If it's the Changes Class well.....in truth, that's not that big of a deal. They (TDCJ) can make it a big deal if they want to, but that doesn't mean they will. Some programs though, that may be a different scenario. It just depends.

Just an update. His class was a substance abuse class and he was released on his shortway (Thank God!!) The TDCJ website updated just under 2 weeks prior to his shortway to reflect his release date.
