Is he filed under Act 649? I think that's a second time offender act. If it is then he can get "good time" and he will have to do 50% before he is eligible for parole. So, that's 57 months times .5 is 28.5 months. The January date is his maximum time served release date if he doesn't get any "good time". He's been in 24 months according to his arrest date, so if my calculations are right he will be up for parole in 4 1/2 months!!

I dont think thats right b/c they gave him no time served from june 2009 to oct 2010 they counted that towards probation violation....so he's actually served 8-9 mo towards his sentence....I did find out he IS eligible for work release now and I'm in the process of trying to get that started....it seems like no one knows when he may actually get out....I know he's done 2 classes that were 45 good time days each, so that's 90 extra days off, then he's almost done with this culinary class which should be for a big chunk of Good Time.....I guess we really wont know anything until they calculate all this good time together....it's frustrating not knowing when my baby will be home...

Act 649 provides for good time at the rate of 35 days for every 30 days in actual custody.

It is not for second time offenders.
