Default Cousin in Jail....Have Questions about his meds and basic needs

Hello PT Members! I hope this summer is treating everyone good, and you're staying as cool as possible!

Last Sunday, my cousin, living in WV...was involved in an altercation which left one person dead and two wounded. He's claiming self-defense, which may very well be true...I don't know.

He immediately turned himself in. My Aunt/Uncle have been able to see him twice @ the jail. He is a disabled iraq vet, who has been on psychiatric medications for quite some time. Since he's been in jail, he has not been allowed ANY of his medications, nor has he been provided a toothbrush. He has, however, been allowed a shower (one).

He now has a court-appointed attorney. I would think that this attorney would be able to do something about these meds. If any of you have ever been on an anti-depressent....well you miss a few days and your brain misfires I speak from experience.

Can anyone enlighten me on the procedures? Isn't that a basic right to have a darned shower, clean yourself up and have doctor prescribed medications? This is all so frustrating as all of you can imagine...and some of you may have first-hand knowledge of the pain this has caused.

Thanking you all for your thoughts and suggestions.

Where is he at? Cuyahoga was sued about that. I know if you call the warden they should help. If not call the man in Columbus.
