Default Sending mail - SCI Somerset

I forgot to add my return address to a letter I sent to SCI Somerset. I'm not overly familiar with the system or how strict they are. I've been wondering, do they still deliver mail without return addresses on? Has anyone ever not added their return address and still had their mail delivered?? (Especially to any kind of PA prison, assuming the rules would be similar)

Just wanted to show some support to an old friend who was locked up recently. Hoping it was delivered...

Thanks for the help!

I know some county jails have rules that all incoming letter/mail must have a return address and name clearly written on the envelope but I do not believe that the PA DOC has this rule. I know I have sent a few letters to someone in the system and forgot to add my return info and it was delivered. But then again one was returned to me even though I filled out the envelope completely stating "No such inmate" or something to that affect and I know my friend was still at the prison. Sometimes the mail room people slip up. The worst that will happen if the person checking the mail does not like the fact of no return address they may just reject the letter or trash it and send notification to the inmate. Letters and all mail are subject to inspect for contraband. They normally don't read the letters unless there is reason for it such as a possible investigation for an inmate.

If you think they may not deliver the letter then send another one and put your return info on it.
