Default Is NY DOC switching over to Jpay July 1st, 2018?

My guy told me where he is by July 1st they are switching over to Jpay. He believes they are getting the tablets soon. He said that jpay can be used instead of money orders like when he was in county.

I didn't see anything online yet. Initially, they said it was coming this summer and summer is here.

Anyone hear the same? As I hear more, I'll share.

Update: it is July 16, 2018 as per online. See attachments. You will no longer be able to mail money orders any longer to the facility. They will be mailed to Jpay only.

Can an admin sticky the second post, so others see it? It changes how commissary will be done moving forward.

Update: you can create a log in on the site as of today and add their information, but it is down for maintenance if you want to add money. It goes live on the 16th.

FYI: credit cards are utilized like a cash advance. You may be charged a different interest rate from credit card purchases.

We used JPay at Rikers and it generally took 24 hrs to clear.

Im curious is they will be notified via pink slip anymore for the electronic funds or will it just show up on the commissary sheet.

When adding money, I hear thereís a 6$ fee for cards. Does that mean, for example, if you add 20$ it takes 6$ off and only adds 14$, or does it add it at the end and charge 26$?

The fee is based on the amount you put on. Look at the attachments above to see the fees. I believe they start at 3.95

20 plus the fee. So 23.95 in the end. Before you do you'll see a confirmation before final "purchase".

All you need is their DIN number and state. Set up your account. Whole process take under 10 min.

Is there a certain time that JPay can be used ? I tried his morning st 730 am as I am up to get ready for work and it said my transaction was declined and there is more than enough money to cover the amount my husband asked for I donít have any other card worth to have no problems using that card anywhere else..

Is it a debit or credit card? They don't always take pre-paud cards. If a credit card, check you available cash advance balance. It takes it as cash and not credit.
