Default SB572 w/AMEND. #100336 heard tomorrow/65% for all non-violent offenders

Sent to my email by Florida Cares:

*****URGENT CALL TO ACTION******
Today Sen. Bracy’s filed Amendment #100336 to Sen. Brandes SB572 that is being heard tomorrow morning in the Senate Criminal Justice Committee Meeting. This amendment will incentivize and reward rehabilitation in prisons, reduce recidivism, and increase public safety through reforming the cap on gain time to 65% for all non-violent offenders not just first time non-violent offenders.
What YOU MUST DO IMMEDIATELY IS:
1. Call
Sen. Keith Perry (850) 487-5008
Sen. Jeff Brandes (850) 487-5024
Sen. AnitereFlores (850) 487-5039
Sen. Jason Pizzo (850) 487-5038
Say:
Hello, my name is ________________ and I am calling to urge Sen. ____________________ to Vote YES on Senator Bracy’s Amendment 100336 to SB 572 being heard on Tuesday, December 10th at 10am in the Senate Criminal Justice Committee Meeting. This amendment will incentivize and reward rehabilitation in prisons, reduce recidivism, and increase public safety through reforming the cap on gain time to 65% and I believe that Florida make meaningful criminal justice reform such as this as so many other states have in recent years.
2. Email:
perry.keith@flsenate.gov;
brandes.jeff@flsenate.gov;
flores.anitere@flsenate.gov;
pizzo.jason@flsenate.gov;
Subject: Vote YES on Senator Bracy’s Amendment 100336 to SB 572 on 12/10/19 at 10am in the Senate Criminal Justice Committee Meeting
Body of Email:
I am writing you today to urge you to Vote YES on Senator Bracy’s Amendment 100336 to SB 572 Tuesday, December 10th, 2019 at 10am in the Senate Criminal Justice Committee Meeting. This amendment will incentivize and reward rehabilitation in prisons, reduce recidivism, and increase public safety through reforming the cap on gain time to 65%. As you know every year since 2015 studies, several paid for by our tax dollars have recommended increasing gain time credits to our legislature beginning with the OPPAGA study in 2015 through the Florida Legislatures Office of Economics study which estimated a possible 860 million dollar tax savings to Florida citizens in 5 years alone in applying 65% to non-violent offenders alone. A link is included here to all 6 studies for the past 5 years that have recommended increasing gain time for your ease. https://drive.google.com/…/1MY-qBLpyXc4rNWKX5-y8QEwzW…/view…
Thank you for your time and I look forward to seeing real criminal justice reforms from my Florida legislators in the 2020 session.
Respectfully,

I wish that I had seen this earlier, been busy this morning, and it is a quarter to 9:00 my time (central) which means if I email everyone on the list, no one will see it until later, but I am going to e-mail anyway! My son still has 25 months left.

I emailed the same day as the vote, used your form but added in things that were personal to me such as I am a registered voter. But no one responded with a thank you for your concern or kiss my derriere lol.
