Default Plainfield on Lockdown due to Swine Flu Virus

Hi all,
Also had a call from my son at Plainfield and they are on lockdown for a least 7 days.. They are supposed to re evaluate at that time.
No visit for me tomorrow. My son said it will probably be state wide, so I would check before you go visit any facility.

Ashely,
There are cases in IN.. I think they are all just being careful. I can kinda of understand.. It would be awful to have someone come down with it in any prison.. Ya know what I mean??

Only one confirmed case in Indiana, a student at Notre Dame, but so far there are 71 confirmed cases nation wide as of 4/28/09.

They advised today on the news, all Indiana facilites are and it is to be reviewed on a week to week basis as to how long this will last.

Five additional cases are being reviewed in Marion County (basically Indianpolis). They are not saying who or where within the area as they do not want to start a panic.

Miami Correctional is on lock down as well. And I hope they do know that simple bed rest cures the swine flu. It really isn't that big of a crisis like everyone thinks it is. There are 109 known cases and only one death. By taking away their visits I know alot of them are going to go nuts. Just another bump in the road I guess.

They aren't on lock down. They just aren't allowed to have visits. My husband has called me ever since this went into effect. He called me right after they were told that there would be no visiting and he called yesterday. So if your man is locked down it isn't because of the swine flu. They just have closed the prisons to visitors who may have the virus from coming in and possibly infecting the inmates. I'd rather they do that than my Husband get sick because someone was sick and came to visit their loved ones and wouldn't stay at home with their illness.
