Oh, xolady, that sounds good! And btw, happy belated birthday

I slept so late today (it's afternoon here already) and had a really late breakfast, so I'll probably also then have a really late combined lunch & dinner, just some leftover potatoes, pan fried, and chicken. I think that's all I have left in my fridge, to be honest...tomorrow is the big grocery shop day

I just saw a recipe for taco sticks using pizza dough. Oh that looked good.
basically brown burger meat, drain, fat and add taco seasoning mix, but dont add the water

Roll out the store bought pizza dough and cut into small rectangles. PUt the meat into the dough and add a stick of cheese, seal up edges. Brush with melted butter/garlic powder and parsley. Bake 20 min (but forgot the temp.....)

They looked yummy!
Plus you can dip them in sour cream or other condiments as you like.

Making lima beans today. Letting them soak a little longer so they don't take too long to cook. May bake a cornbread, too.

How funny choclg, I have been thinking of making corn bread too. But probably gonna use the cheater boxed kind. Not sure.
I dont use it alot, so if I buy the larger box you mix with flour it goes bad with the little bugs. bluck! grosses me out.

It is CDN Thanksgiving today. Mom in charge of cooking, as usual, and it is only 2 of us. So, we will have turšija [pickled stuffs ], đuveč [vegetable casserole], sarma and then lots of different roasted vegetables. Knedle for dessert, but all the plums were bad, so she’s gonna try pear. Never do I get the „ normal ” holiday dinner of my neighbors!

SW - try the Jiffy cornbread mix - it's a small box and it makes pretty good corn bread....even better if you add a little red pepper, cheese and creamed corn!

I'll be spending the day cooking our meals for the nights I work this week. Thankfully it's a little "cooler" so the AC won't be running all day while the stove is on. I'm not sure what all I'll be preparing except for spaghetti, meatloaf, and potluck night.

It appears we're in for more tropical weather so I'm going to prepare accordingly. For our Florida family, be safe.

Nim, I did use the boxes of jiffy corn bread but either my taste buds are messed up, or the boxes were stale or something. I have not gone and checked the date on the boxes but I know I just got them a few weeks ago.
This is the second time Ive made corn bread that didnt taste right to me.

Bummer.

ps, I added corn to the box mix. The texture was good, it just tasted off.

Nim and Sidewalker, Jiffy Mix or Martha White are my go to for cornbread. I make a few adjustments with buttermilk and butter but no made from scratch batter for me.

I do what nim does with adding a can of creamed corn. You need to have some fat to keep it moist Whole milk!!!

It was moist enough, but just tasted off due to being an old box.

I made a yummy dinner last night.
I used the zatarains lime cilantro rice mix. (which I just love)
cut up chicken breasts, cooked then set aside.
Added the rice, 2 cups water and 1 cup salsa to pan, covered and cooked 20 min. Added the chicken back in, and a cup of cheese (cheddar but it should have been a mexi mix rice combo) and cooked another few min.

really yummy, not much work. Did some asparagus on the side.

Now what am I gonna do for tonight? lol. there isnt enough leftover to do again for dinner. Darn it.

Middle of October and I harvested green beans, peppers, squash, and a tomato. I was pleasantly surprised with the amount for this time of year.

Thinking of trying to grow some winter crops. Ive never done it before, but I may this yr.
I did figure out to put some basil leaves in a jar of water.....and leave it. After a few weeks they grow roots!
Im thinking its pretty late to try to grow them outside but maybe I'll try an indoor pot and see how it does.
