Most prisons allow this .. but you can always call the unit and talk to the mailroom to make sure ..

For a lot of California Prisons you can't send an envelop with an address lable. Well you can, but you will get it back. Same is true for Delaware.

The letters I send to The SHU at Pelican Bay are allowed to have labels however some general population California prisons don't allow them...makes no sense really so I'd suggest calling the mail room to find out as rules are different from prison to prison and state to state

Here in PA...no way! No stickers of any kind. The best way to find out is to call the facility.

I know that they look like stickers but for me I have never had any problems sending sheets of labels that I made for my hunny into Salinas Valley. As a matter of fact I made him some with Homer Simpson on them, since he is a Simpson's nut and when the officer handed him his mail he yelled "Doh" into the cell, it took my husband a minute to figure out why, but they were both laughng about it latter on that night.

That's good info to know I am going to try and send a label on one of my letters I always thought it was not aloud but I guess I will have to try for myself to see if the prison where my husband is at allows it

I've put address labels on every letter I've ever sent my 20+ penpals over the years. I've never had one returned.

I use labels on every one of my letters and cards. I've never sent him any but all my letters get through just fine.

I have always used a label for my return address and never had it returned for that yet. This is in Jersey.

sin't it interesting you can't use preaddressed labels in some states, but you can use preglued stamps? And I'm guessing the reason for the labels is they think you might put contrabaqnd under the label...
Next the corrections depts will devise some kind of contract with the post office that they will get a kick back for all the prestamped envelopes sent to prisoners and thus require people to ONLY use prestamped envelopes that come from the post office. Anything to make life more difficult for the inmates and loved ones...
