Default Governor Snyder visits RCG

LOL! I am most certain that he didn't get a "real" prison tour and was only shown what they wanted him to see. The comments after the article are good.

Gov. Rick Snyder tours prison in Jackson

JACKSON, Mich. (AP) — Gov. Rick Snyder followed up on a pledge to see how Michigan prisons are being run, becoming the first Michigan governor in more than 50 years to tour a state prison. He visited the Charles E. Egeler Reception and Guidance Center in Jackson Friday afternoon. Snyder spokeswoman Geralyn Lasher says Snyder "wanted to see how a typical day might be" in a state prison. She says the last governor to tour a prison was G. Mennen "Soapy" Williams, who served from 1949-1960. According to a release, Snyder expressed his appreciation to the facility's staff for their "constant professionalism in such a challenging work environment."He was accompanied Friday by state Corrections Director Daniel Heyns. Snyder mentioned his intention to visit a prison during a March address on public safety.

My sweetie told me he was there. He said some of the guys got to talk to him. But he works a third shift job so apparently he was sleeping or something when he was there.

He should have toured MTU or Newberry, right out on big yard with a thousand inmates and two guards like our guys have to face everyday.

Would rather he did an undercover boss show, and come in as an inmate for a week or two. That might change his mind on the place.

I rather doubt he was served a "gourmet" prison breakfast or lunch.

Sit in a cell where the jerk next door has flooded his cell with his toilet and now its in his. Let his wife pay $4 for a 15 minute call with him. Eat the mystery meat in mystery sauce with only enough to feed a 2 year old off of that the dang dog would turn his nose away to. Deal with overcrowding or being treated worse than dog crap by your perfect state of mich employee co's. Yeah buddy I heard you call that other prisoner a fagot pos that day in the background when talking to my guy. That man didnt see anything worth seeing that day, trust me. If he did he would be right back at the drawing board fixing his budget plan. Just sayin.. so sick of MDOC

We all need to start to write to the Governors office about all that is going on in these Facility's. But we all have to be careful because the letters could fall back on our Loved Ones. I would sign it in someone else's name, and mail it from a different town.
