Yes, but those inmates usually reside in the infirmary - doubt you would be allowed to use in your cell/dorm. Which prison?

Someone in Pinckney was able to get one sent in from outside. It didn't go smoothly enough to stay out of court:

Someone else who had been having trouble elsewhere finally succeeded after a transfer to Vandalia. https://webcache.googleusercontent.c...&ct=clnk&gl=us

It sounds like it's all about getting your records to Medical as soon as you can and in apple-pie order.

I'm not exactly sure about the State prisons, but in the Federal prison I was in, they legally had to allow me to bring my CPAP with me (self-surrender)... Sleep apnea can be a serious condition, and it should be treated accordingly. I know of another inmate in the same place I was that fought to get his, and they wanted to send him to a sleep doctor and all that, which would have probably taken years to get done at the rate they do things in there.

You may want to try writing to and sending the medical information to the warden of the facility and see if that will get you anywhere. Depends on the warden, but sometimes they'll work with you just to avoid the trouble they'll go through if you have to go through the courts to get them to allow it.
