Default PRD 8/13/2014, no phone privileges, how will I know scheduled release date?

My bf is currently serving 180 day state jail term at Lychner. His projected release date online says 8-3-14. Since he has been there, he has not stayed out of trouble! He has been put on restriction for the majority of the time. My question is, if he does not have phone privileges, then how will I be notified when he is officially scheduled for release? When I try to search him on the eComm website it says offender not found. I'm guessing this means his books have been closed. I am not listed as a visitor, so that is not an option to find out! His last charge he received moved him from J2 to J5. And on top of everything, I haven't received anything from him in the mail since July 7th!! Can someone please let me know what I can expect as far as his release will go? I have searched post after post and cannot find anything on the release process of state offenders in TDCJ. Thanks!

I got a phone call from the unit a few days before D was released from Bartlett State Jail. D had designated me as the one who was picking him up, so they called me to give me the info I needed for pick up.

Are you picking him up?

Yes I plan to! Unless being on his "disapproved visitors" list prevents me from doing so...

Hmmm. I don't know that it would prevent you from being able to pick him up. Do you know if you're the person he put down (or will put down) as the person who is picking up? I'm not sure exactly how it all works on that end. If you are, then you should get a call from the unit.

D was released on a Monday, and I got the call the previous week. Maybe Thursday or Friday? I can't remember exactly.
