Exclamation USP Pollock, Lousiana on lockdown after inmate fighting.

I just found out the maximum security facility at Pollock is on lock down, 20 people were killed. I am not exactly sure what happened however my friend was just visiting at the minimum security camp and visitation was cancelled for the remainder of the weekend holiday. I am supposed to call back in an hour when hopefully things settle down some to see if they will allow visitation at the satellite camp. If anyone has any further information please let me know, and if i hear anything else I will post. God Bless the families of their loved ones today, what horrible news!
regards,
jenn

OMG! My Baby is at FCI Pollock. I wonder if they are on lockdown as well since I last talked to him at 8 this morning when he said he was going to play pool. I'll be sure to ask if he knows anything about it should I hear from him. Thanx for the info.

My husband can still see the emergency SWAT team up there and Medium IS ON lockdown too because they are pulling all the staff from there to help. It's not from anything they did...

Also I spoke to staff at the camp and they said 20 people is innacurate but all visitation is still off for the weekend and he would not tell me how many died.

I was at the camp when it all happened. Scary! I think the number is more like 6, but I don't know for sure. They rushed us all out of there in a panic. I don't think the camp is allowed visitation either!

I'm sorry to heart that... You know I'm in a panic right now because that is where my husband thinks he is going OMG

I hope you and the kids got back home safe and sound...

Just got a call from my hubby at the camp. The whole complex is on lockdown and no visitation tomorrow. What a mess.

Jenn I can only imagine. Bless your heart. This is why I didn't post right away when we were rushed out. It was 1:00. I didn't want to scare anyone without having the details.

I google/yahoo searched for info about this using several search term combos. Nothing. That seems odd to me. Anyone get any more news?
I hope your LO's are OK. Sending good thoughts...

One of my friends just called, and her husband is also at the camp. He said that fighting is still going on at the max, so that's why it's still on LD. I assume the camp will remain on LD too since its so close to the max. As far as the deaths, he said 5. My husband heard 6. Maybe it's best not to dwell on that since there may not have been any at all. When we were leaving, there were probably 7 ambulances there. Guards were running all over the place, and the walkie talkies were going wild. I cried for about 15 minutes. So surreal.

Does anyone know how many are housed at the max? That may be a dumb question, but is it like 300? 600? 900?There are close to 300 at the camp, but that's all I have experience with.
