I've just gotten out after doing 11+ yrs, 7 of which at FCI La Tuna.
At the camp there is no RDAP. If you're elegible for the time off, you will be sent up to the FCI. The waiting list there was so damn long that they were giving only 5-6 months off your sentence.
There is no email. Just snailmail, and we're talking about a slow snail.
You will be able to take correspondence college courses, but you must pay for it. Good luck.

If you want to know how to get there, Take I-10 out of El Paso to exit zero in Anthony. Turn left on Wildcat. (between Burger King and the Pilot) and follow that to Doniphan. It's a dead end so you turn left. LaTuna is on the left a mile or so down. If you get there early, you have to line up on the side of the highway. Try to get there an hour or so early. be sure to follow the dress code, because they will send you out. They take ten at a time
You want to dress warmly if it's cold out.

Default FCI La Tuna

My husband just spent 2 1/2 years in the La Tuna triangle and was transfered last week to Taft, CA. I just want everyone to know that if you have any questions regarding La Tuna, please let me know as I have a wealth of information. I will post the information later as I have to get it all typed up first.

Any and all info you have will be appriciated. I have family there and think that they are jerking him around. Found out today that he was sent to the hole for no apparent reason.

So sorry to hear about your loved one being sent to the hole. When did he get to La Tuna? If you or your family need help, please PM me. I still live near the prison and would be happy to do whatever I can.

Hello I'm pretty new to this. I first want to say thank you for being so ready to help. My fiance is there. He's been there for about 2 months now. I'm leaving for my first visit from CA on the 11th of this month. I'm kind of scared cause I will be traveling alone but I'm happy at the same time. I dont know much about the facillity. However I would love any helpful info or advice. I miss him so much and I cant wait to see him.

My fiance is there too. I know how you feel. I'm in Cali and he's there. It's killing me but I'm faithfully waitting. He mean just that much to me. I know 15 mins just aint enough time to talk. Anyways stay strong and stay down. It's hard doing time exspecially when they do the time alone.

Default Information about La Tuna

Hello Everyone,
I've recently received word that my son's final destination will be La Tuna located outside of El Paso, Texas. I'd appreciate any current info that you may have and may wish to share. So far, my source has been an old research paper done on the orginal warden that was available on El Paso Community College Page and an item regarding the Federal Prison Industries at La Tuna.
My son's in AZ at the moment and I'd like to know as much as I can about La Tuna to "bring him up to speed" on LT. This will most likely be one of the few times on record that he'll actually listen to his "old man". Thanks again.

Hello Chuck'sDad! Welcome to the parents forum, though I am sorry you had to find us and another son is in this messed up system. Sure wish these kids would listen in the first place, and save us all the heartache! You may try the Federal forums, as suggested, here's a link:

I will keep Chuck in my prayers, and tell him, Father knows best! So listen!
God Bless

From I-10 exit off exit 2 go to the stop sign and turn left. Go to the stop light and turn right its about 2 miles on the right. They will give him prison clothes and shoes. As far as motels I go to priceline.com and do the name your own price for $35 and get the studio plus off exit 13. its only about 11 miles from the prison. There are 2 motel right in Anthony, the super 8 is the cheapest but still cost about $60 a night. My husband has been there for 4 months now and says that its not that bad. Everyone has the same thing in mind ( do the time and get home) Also where are you from?
I hope this help you

eek. if he is going to the camp, that is great, the fci and the fsl are disgusting. Absolutely disgusting. If he is going to to the RDAP program, he is going to have to transfer to the fci or fsl. If that is the case, he should do whatever he can to get transfered to a different facility outside of el paso texas.
