Default Federal Correctional Institution (FCI) - Englewood

I posted this in the Federal Prison Forum and have not any answers yet so I thought that I would post here and see if I get any responses.

My husband at a Federal Prison Camp-Englewood it is in Littleton. I just wondered if anyone else had a loved one there. I had questions about visiting and about sending stuff if you can. Thanks to anyone that can answer my questions.

I have had and I do still. What did you need to know? There is a list that the "camper" can get from his Counselor as to what you can send and how to send it. Money needs to be a "postal money order", but there is a limit as to how much they can have at anyone time in there account, somewhere around $250. Visitation isn't too bad. You do need to have him get a visitation form from his counselor and send it to you. It takes about three weeks for approval, you know background checks and all. The FPC is outside the razor wall on the compound. You can have contact but not conjugal visits. You meet in the area where they have meals, but you can also go outside to the "picnic" area. There's a small playground for the kids. There are certain items of clothing that you cannot wear, such as low cut tops, sleeveless tops, tight pants or tops, you know anything that can bee deemed racey. They will turn you away if the wrong guard is on duty. Take your picture ID, i.e., drivers license is best. There are vending machines there so that you can purchase goodies for him. Don't take over $10 and make sure that you take paper dollars (not the new ones) and also coins. Beware though, sometimes I've had better luck playing the slot machines in Vegas. Hopefully this will help you. If you need anything else let me know. I will be returning there in two weeks. But I will be checking email.
Take care and be strong!

Default Englewood, FCI Information Please

Hello all,

I'll be self-surrendering to Englewood, FCI at the end of Nov and I am looking for any and all information you can provide. I tried calling the prison to see about getting a copy of the inmate handbook but they said no dice. They said they would answer three quick questions over the phone and then they gave me the bop.gov website address.

I've never been to prison before so if anyone can give any advice, tips, etc I would appreciate it. My sentence is 12mos and 1 day so I'm told I'll be out in 10mos with "good time". Anyway, thanks for any information you are able to provide.

Ryan

Default I'm learning

Well, I have some information about the facility. One is that although the website and the recorded message by phone giving out visiting information states Thursday - Monday. The only visiting days are Fridays 5pm-9pm, and Saturdays & Sundays are 8:30am-3:30pm. The two also state that only 3 walking visitors per inmate. Apparently you can have as many children as want to bring attend the visit. The correctional officer at the front processing visitors did call someone to verify how many visitors could she allow and she then reported to the visitors that 3 adults per visitor and no limit on children. WOW, was all I could say to that. I know there is no low facility located in Colorado. Does anyone know if this facility is considered medium/low or will my hubby have to move to a low facility out of the state when his classification changes? Thank you in advance for any and all information you can provide.

Yes, StillRidin4Him I visit often I'm addicted to that man. I can relate that place is like my second home also. I visit every week, I change up the days sometimes due to scheduling conflicts, but I make it there at least once a week. There is alot of information and support on this website, I'm sure you will find it enlightening.

Default RDAP at Englewood Camp

Anyone have any information about how often new RDAP programs start at the Englewood Camp? Trying to figure out how soon my buddy can get in and whether he should surrender earlier than his report date to get in faster. Thanks in advance.

Question FCI Englewood-Any info?

My fiance is supposed to report to FCI Englewood in Littleton, CO, on May 22nd. Everything we've found online about it is bad, about black and mexican gangs, drugs, stuff like that. My fiance is white, so all of this is a large concern. Any info anyone may have would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

My brother was there for 6 weeks waiting to go to court. He was in the SHU and they didn't give him his mental health medication and taunted him so severly that he still suffers from post traumatic stress. That was the worst prison he had ever been to and all prisons have gangs of every race and color. It's the whole prison mentality thing to stick with your own race, but it doesn't mean he has to join a gang. Just tell your fiance to keep to himself and stay low-keyed by not getting in anyone's face or acting disrespectful to anyone and to only trust himself and not do anything to get sent to the SHU. Prison is hard and once they decide to do the time and not let the time do them, then they learn how to accept it and do the best they can. He will need your support to keep him strong. God Bless and best wishes for you both.

Default Need information on FCI Englewood in Colorado

Does anyone have any information on Englewood Colorado's Federal Prison? My Fiance will doing his time there. It is the closest one to me, but still an 8 hr drive. I will try and go see him at least once a month or every other month. But it will be better for him than the overcrowded county Jail here in Utah.
