In Oxford he was at the camp. Didn't get an e-mail from him today so I suspect he's on the road.

Tracker says my husband is still in Terre Haute. I'm guessing he's now waiting for transport from Terre Haute to Marion. He's been in Terre Haute since 6/24. MHVM - how quickly did your bf have phone and e-mail once in Marion? There's very little info on this site about Marion - don't know what might be going on there.

We dropped him off Friday at 7pm and he started calling Saturday after 10am. Since you put your own phone numbers in the system it goes pretty quick. But I haven't talked to him since last Thursday and when I try to call up there no one answers the phone. Wondering whats going on.

MHVM - Finally heard from him! They flew him from Terre Haute to the Fed Transfer Center in Oklahoma City. Don't quite understand that logic but supposedly there's a bus that goes from there to Marion. Hopefully he'll be in Marion soon. Hope you hear something soon.

Glad you heard from him! His minutes should have reset to 300. My HB's still in OK City hoping to move on Tuesday. Is visiting every weekend at the camp?

Just dress conservatively and you'll be fine. No gray , khaki or camo. No sleeveless, backless, shorts or cleavage. No flip-flops or sandals. There are no metal detectors at the camps so you don't have to worry about underwire bras! Take a small baggie to put money for vending and your car keys in. Has he told you that you are on his visiting list?

The only color you can't wear is army green; there is one guard there that they call Hilter and he is strict with visitors; won't let any baby who walks bring in a blanket. He's gotten a little better in the last year or so - got a personality suddenly. No sexy clothes although some people wear very tight clothes I think. You must be on the visitor list to get in, but if you are the immediate family of the prisoner or the wife or his child, you are automatically on the list.

If you are not at SCP before 930, you might as well wait getting there until 11am b/c they have count at 10am and no one goes anywhere for 1 hour if they are not in the visiting room already.

My former spouse is there; has been since 9/09; best job to get is the kitchen I hear; while it's not a country club, it's also not bad for a prison camp. The staff on the phone is very pleasant and counselors seem to work to get what you need done if within their powers. Bring lots of quarters or dollar bills; it's hot in the summer and cold in the winter; no outside is allowed anymore. Bring wet wipes, not the cleaniest tables. There is a nice little place to stay just south that is the cheapest. Its called Valley View Cabins and its nice.

Do you know why they closed the outside area? The patio was so nice in Oxford. Not that we will want to be outside this weekend - It's supposed to be 92. I searched for a hotel with an outdoor pool and did find one. Hopefully it won't rain!

Default Any info on USP Marion would be helpful?

I am wanting any information on USP Marion in Illinois that anyone can give me. My boyfriend is there and I'm really new to all of this. We have the phone calls down and email. I'm really curious about visitations, what I can and can't send like books etc... Our relationship is MWI and I'm wondering if I'm actually going to be able to visit. He is in the prison, not the camp. I just want to have a real idea of what to expect when/if I can visit. Thank you in advance to anyone that can give me some insight.

jen - My husband is at the camp. I know you can send books, magazines through Amazon. He will have to send you a visiting form to fill out and return and then he will have to let you know when you are approved to visit.
