Default My husband's parole officer called today eekkk!!!

He wants to set up an appointment to come look at our house. I'm gonna be a mad cleaning woman today lmao. It's not dirty just lived in and needs to be straightened out lol. Nothing I can't handle. I'm sure he will be out next week or early the week after so I need to get busy Yay it's getting so close.

Well getting the house ready is happy stress, happy for you that your prison journey is nearly over.

That may be the only time you get to ask the PO questions too. They will probably tell you what can not be in the house, and the access they have to come in and search is also important for you to know.

Once your house is approved, that is a great thing. Then you will both know that he will be allowed to live there when he is released.

I'm pretty much in the loop with what I can and can't have. I don't drink or do drugs I don't own any fire arms or have any knives not used in the kitchen. I think I'm good in that area. And we had this house before he went in and it's in the nicest neighborhood in our city so I'm sure everything will be fine. I'm just a worrier and I have anxiety issues so I'll be worried until it's approved.

Good luck I am sure things will go good. I personally have gone thru this quite a few times and never had a problem with home visits except I found them tedious and intrusive!!! But other then that no problem.

Finally got to speak to him today. He's very nice. We played phone tag for a while but he knew I work multiple jobs and he's busy to. So anyway he's coming next Wednesday a week before I pick my husband up. Yay. I'm ready for that part to be over.

Great news! My husband's PO was ahead on his cases (since my husband isnt coming out until Jan) and isn't off paper until March, but called to do his post release for SR visit last May and apparently "was in the neighborhood" so just stopped by. I was so happy I wasn't home then. My house was probably pretty messy - kids beds unmade, clothes all over.

He came back a few days later on my terms, but it was really no big deal other than I thought it was so strange that he wanted to literally count every bedroom in our house and the bathrooms. He didn't walk through any of them (my daughters have a jack n jill bath), but more or less glance at them. Also went to the basement to check out my husband's office and what's down there. I don't think he checked the garage, and he didn't open any door or anything. Said he has to sketch a floorplan or something like that. He did do a more thorough walk through that the PO who did the PSR, although I did think it was odd that she (the one that did the PSR) was all interested at one point in our backyard and that we had a back fence between our house and a major street (my husband was not going to be sentenced originally to HC so that was weird). Just a lot of inconsistencies I guess because that one also didn't bother going into the basement.

Anyway, I definitely did use the time to ask him questions and he was really helpful, so while you're walking around, take advantage of that.

Nothing about guns or drugs came up in our walk through, but maybe because my husband isn't in for anything like that and our community had recently passed a law on gun control and made it pretty clear to him how we felt about that on the phone when he called.

You're almost there, and then a different kind of work starts, but you can do it!! Best wishes to the 2 of you!

My husband isn't in for any guns or drugs either but he did ask me on the phone. My garage is a mess but most are and I'm not worried about that. I do have a few full closets but again I'm not worried about that. I don't drink or do drugs either so we are good there to. We have a huge house and he can go into any room he wants. They are all clean except the spare room which has a bunch of random things in it. I have a list going already and am prepared for that. Like I said he seemed nice when we spoke so I think it will go well. We live in a great community and are friends with the police. One is our friend who actually wrote him a letter at sentencing.
I know he will do well on parole because he knows if not it will take him away again and we don't want that so we will follow all rules. I'm so excited.

Me to. Our house is pretty clean except a huge pile of clean clothes I have in the corner of our room sitting on to tall baskets full of clothes. Lmao I did laundry yesterday and haven't had the time to put it away. Owell the house has to look lived in and everything cant be perfect no matter how hard I try.. If it was he would wonder what was up Lol. I'll be getting up at 6 am to do some last minute stuff.

My husband's parole office is nice thank goodness. He's a younger man maybe 25-30. He will have to report twice a month and then less as time goes on. He only has a year parole so it shouldn't be that bad. He told me about Night Hawk. They come after parole office hours to check on him and do a house search and maybe a breathalyzer test and then leave. He said it won't happen often but it can happen. He said everything looked good and he looked forward to meeting my husband next Wednesday. Woooooo Hoooooo

What a huge relief. I’m glad the home visit went so well. Puts a little of my anxieties to rest on what to expect lol.

Yeah he was so nice and all he wanted was a walk through just so they know what to expect when they come for the surprise visits....or whatever. I'm glad it's over
