Lightbulb Please donate to keep this site running!

As many of you might have noticed, this site - our sometimes lifeline - was down for almost one week and this thread explains why it happened this time.

All of us on here needed help, support, info and a good cheering-up at one point. The prison life as an outmate and former inmate is nothing for the faint of heart and so many people on here are giving it their all as in time to keep this site running and to respond to our posts and sometimes numerous times and very lengthy.

I for one have been on here and I have received a lot of support and help and information. I have followed women and men waiting for their loved one to come home and were privy to the story to their stories while their loved one was still in and after.

Please please please, let us help support this site by donating to keep this site running. $1 is enough, more is better.
I personally want to keep in touch with all of you and especially the ones I came to know a little better durning my last 5+ years on here.

It's a lot of work to keep this site running which is to all of our benefit and sometimes entertainment.

Here's the link where you can donate starting at just $1.

http://www.prisontalk.com/forums/awc_ds.php?do=donation

Thank you!

Thank you, Mizzy. PTO has been like family to me, as well. Hard to imagine having our lights turned off and not having access to our network of support.

I set up a biweekly donation. This place has been a life save for the last 3 years. It may not be a ton, but hopefully it helps.

Tomorrow it will switch back to 0

Can someone make a daily tally, including the final amount we have here today, and keep the amount going.

We are going to need more than the usual amount as we want to move the site to a cheaper provider and get a new software package that will upgrade this one as it it old and outdated.

I am trying to get a figure from David as to what we are actually looking at.

Thanks everyone for the help.

$2.00. If we all gave $2.00... we’re stronger when we’re united. I’ve donated before but thank you for the reminder.

Only the "Paypal" option works in the initial. Once transferred to that Paypal page I was able select a credit / debit card or Paypal. Debit card worked fine for me.

Is there a way to make possible to donate without having to login? It might help get more money?

That's a good idea Maybe David can make the Donation icon available for "guests." Thanks for bringing that up

I love David, but he is not motivated or engaged by dough!! I wish someone would post 1 fundraising note on every forum, not just here. Many people don't browse, they just hit their interest and skedaddle.

A reminder banner at the top every page could help definitely. I would say going forward a reminder similar to Wikipedia every year say around tax time may help the site as well.

I think it’s a great place for those not on social media and for those wanting to remain anonymous. Donation sent.

Today I went to get onto the site and was brought to a page, which said this:
Oops!
Something went wrong
Looks like this domain's DNS hosting service has expired. If you are the administrator for this domain, please log into your DNS Made Easy account and renew your services. If you do not have a DNS Made Easy account, please contact your hosting provider.

Tonight, I was able to get on here but only by using the link from the PTO FB page. Not sure why I get that "DNS expired" page when I type the url directly.
In any event, I donated. Unfortunately it wasn't as much as I wish I could give right now, but it's a start.
That "DNS hosting expired" notice was too concerning to ignore!

The donations of late have been so awesome. Thank you, all!
I know that many of us struggle financially and I hope you know that your participation in the forums is so vitally important. It's just another way of supporting PTO.
