Default College Classes at CCC

I was wondering if anyone has any information regarding college class's while at CCC. He already has his BA and Masters (he did that while on the outside) and now he wants to try to get another Masters (this time in history) since he has all the time on his hands. Wed prefer a college in the State of California. If anyone has any information on college course through the mail Id greatly appreciate it. Hes on Cascade yard if that matters.

(I accidentally posted this in CCI and I meant to post it here at CCC Susanvill and I cant delete the one in CCI).

Here is the link for the CCC newcombers information. It mentions college courses that they can take at CCC, but I am not sure how they go about it. I would think he has to talk to his counselor about the classes. Hopefully someone with more information will come by and answer your question better. Good Luck

I know there was a guy doing College Correspondence Programs, I don't know what school it was. But your husband would need to talk to his councelor about what College classes are available. I was trying to find the thread about College courses, but I think it was lost during our little system booboo a few months back. Best of Luck!!

My son is in CCC and wanted to take welding or study for his contractors license but was denied because he gets out in a year. He was denied dental work for the same reason. His sentence (this time) was 2 years. He was put off for the 1st six months because he was waiting for an "official" denial to firecamp. He contracted TB while at High Dessert..but he found out at CCC after he was requested fire camp. Even though he knew he would be denied fire camp due to TB, he wrote kites..waited, talked to his case manager and doctor about getting the official denial so he could start something else. The denial came in...and now he is "short timer" so can just sit there for another year.

They have a local college, Lassen College that works with prisoners. Contact the prison or Lassen College directly. They can help you. Many also use Coastline correspondence courses.

I know Ohio University has a program. Sorry that it's not in California. That's the only one I have heard of of late.
