My fiance is slightly new to Hancock and I feel harrassed just about every time I visit.

I've never had any problems at Hancock but I follow the rules to a T... Some are nice, others are complete, power tripping asses. But I am twice as nice to them as they are to me and I've not had any problems. I also follow the clothing rules too because I've seen them deny people because of their clothing.

Such as it is, it's not a bad place. I wish my boyfriend was closer but I don't want him where there is a lot of danger, etc. I do know that the E wing is bad..I can't remember if it's east or west. My boyfriend is in the Annex and it's not too bad for the most part.

My advice is smile, do what they say and thank them.. it gets 'em everytime.. lol

When I first started coming I was constantly being harassed by the staff, but most of them are okay now that they see me every weekend. I do have a few that always act like they hate their jobs and take it out on the visitors though. And this weekend I went there and they told me I couldn't see him because he was in isolation. the officer at the desk never even looked in the computer so i knew something was strange. Now I found out there was a riot there and he got hurt!!!! I have to wait until Monday to talk to someone.

As far as the staff there is a difference between annoyances and harrassment. No matter where you go there will always be miserable people. Seeing that you are no longer experiencing the issues with the staff, I do not know why they didn't tell you there were no visitors allowed if there was a riot. In any event, call the counselor first thing in the morning. If he is in isolation at least he didn't sustain serious injuries (or at least I hope not). Good luck with finding out the info; again I hope he is okay.
