Default I'm so glad to have the truck back--I'm still laughing!

I am still laughing!
As I was downsizing after my husband died, I got rid of his 1986 Chevy s10. It was so special to him, in fact he taught me how to change the fuel filter over the telephone!
When he died I lived in a fog like none I've ever known. I knew I was supposed to "do the right thing" and get rid of things I knew I couldn't use. One of those things was his truck.
It had already sat up for a long while, then I got it road worthy and then I had an engine fire and then it sat up again. But my husband dreamed of rebuilding the truck again. I got him a custom made transmission...the window rubbers, the front grill...piecing it back together.
Well, I guess he changed his mind about working on the truck because he died instead.
So I sent it to a collector car place to try to get it redone the way he wanted, but it was too expensive to do, so I just told them do with it what you want. I'd long since forgotten where they said they would send it, I was trying to focus on moving forward. That was eight months ago, I thought it was over. But I missed the truck too. ...My memories, his memories, all the good stuff.
Well then yesterday, I got a letter from the wrecker yard asking me if I wanted it. Hell yeah! So now it is back on my yard, where it is supposed to be and my hubby I'm sure is jumping up and down with excitement that his truck is back home. And how many videos on you tube are out there now about how to fix this thing.. a zillion!
So yeah I know I am supposed to be downsizing, but I GOT MY BABY"S TRUCK BACK!!! And I will fix it myself! I won't be the first time he's told me to do something and I have had to figure it out on my own! YAY YAY YAY!!!

Apparently not! It came back.
You just set it aside with the right people until you were ready for it. I'm so glad to hear it's home, with you, and can't wait to hear about the rebuild!

Miamac- I guess I didn't do the right thing about getting rid of it since it came back--- I've cried so many tears since this happened. I mean you see this kind of thing in the movies, but in real life!?! I'm just absolutely over the moon about it. I am so thrilled! Like he loves me that much STILL?? Just wow!
