Hey everyone, I finally decided to get my masters in environmental science. I'm 27 and finished my BS in soil science when i was 22! I can't get financial aid and paid my first semester from the pocket but now that I have been having problems with my local number with gtl, i think i am going to have to get a student loan. I can't believe my phone bill is competing with my tuition!

Oooh, fun! My name is Monika, I am 21 and attending Bethel College (here in Tennessee) to get my BS in Psychology. I was out of school a few years, I had to "live life" I guess.. So being my first semester, it's been quite different to get into the habit again, but I am really enjoying myself. I've met a lot of interesting people! It's a pleasure meeting all of you.

I'm Nichole, 25, currently working on my BA in Administration w/ a specialization in Human Resources. I will be graduating Dec 2011.
I started college in '03 and was getting my BA in Sociology but after having one more semester left I took a two year break. I am now back in with a different major that applies to my current job.

Wow...I'm surrounded by intelligent people.

I'm known on the boards here as Aakifah (my Islamic name); I'm 31 and am attending a local community college but will be transferring this summer (Idk where yet). I'm majoring in Psychology..considering doing a double major in Sociology...would like a minor in Religious Studies.

I hope to use my degree as a Psych researcher with a focus on the Islamic community. I would also like to be a Muslim chaplain at a women's prison, one day.

Lightbulb Online Education is key to success

I found online distance education the way to go.I just graduated with my MBA from Kaplan and now am looking at here in the USA. I found some really great online education programs by looking online via Google. Once I complete my PhD in Psychology I pan on giving back and provide help to other inmates. It's certainly a blessing I have come this far. Never give up hope!

I took the bite, dropped out of a career as an administrative assistant to go back to school full-time. I am pursuing an associates degree in criminal justice, to (hopefully) graduate in October 2012. After that, I will go straight to a 4-year university to pursue a bachelors in social work, with a criminal justice minor. I will need to go for a masters degree after that, but the hope is that I can get out there and do good social work with families of people who are going through the criminal justice system (from arrest to post-parole/probation). We all know and have LIVED the nightmare of our beloved's arrest, and the frightening first days, weeks, months of our loved one being gone, the negative impact on ourselves, our children, our finances (especially if they were the main breadwinner). There's GOT to be someone out there to help out the families, help the non-incarcerated partner (if they aren't able to) to step up to the plate and hold the family together AND be a primary support system for our incarcerated loved one.

CPS has more than enough on their plate...too much, I think. Social service agencies are understaffed, underpaid and overstressed. There's GOT to be a way to make a paradigm shift so we can help our families...so our families can help our incarcerated loved ones.

Oooooh, you're going for your Bachelors in Criminal Justice Human Services? Now THAT's something I could go for! I'm going to a private community college that does associate degrees only, so will have to transfer to a 4-year university to get my bachelors. Maybe if I go the route you're taking, I might be able to transfer more of my CJ creds from my current college. THANK YOU!
