I heard from mines on Wednesday. Hmmm, I don't believe they are on lockdown unless it happened today. Hope you all hear something soon.

I got an email this morning. Is your loved one at Camp? Mine's is in the max. I know sometimes my bf says the lines are long for the phone and email or that they don't always work. Like all but one phone will be working. Yeah write a letter. You never know, once I didn't hear anything for a long time and he was in the hole.

I have a friend who was designated to the FCI at Hazelton and who arrived there last Tuesday (one week ago today). He did communicate with his mother by email once the day he got there and no one has heard from him since. When I call, no one answers the phone, and I have been calling throughout the day for the last two days. Does anyone have any helpful information, as I am unfamiliar with Hazelton, except the bad things I have heard.

The FCI is currently locked down. It may be a while yet but as soon as they are out he will be able to contact you. Right now they are in their cells 24/7.

Default Lockdown mail

I would have assumed MY L O would have sent me mail by now.
Lockdown 7 days so far and i sent mail as well do they still receive their mail and pictures. Magazines during it ? Or does it depend the severity of the lockdown ? It was confirmed a CO was stabbed just wondering if mail is cut off too ?

Mail delivery, both ways, often slows way down during lockdowns. Another possibility is that he is out of stamps or stationary since he will not be able to shop at the commissary during the lockdown. Keep writing as if he is receiving all of your letters.

No to sending stamps or paper/envelopes. The only options are commissary or borrowing. If the inmate qualifies, under the bop's rules, as indigent, he can send up to 3 letters per week, but only if he requests "indigent stamps".

It’s been almost month without any communication or contact that’s the longest in a years time I knew something wasn’t right. Any idea on the current situation and status of the lockdown when I called obviously no questions could be answered for security reasons and my LO was suppossed to be going to the halfway house in the mist of all this so I’m assuming it was put on hold until this is over which doesn’t seem fair but hey it’s prison I guess just curious if there’s been any updates anyone knows of?

Welcome to Prison Talk. If he is moved, the inmate locator information will change, but other than that, he will have to tell you what happened.

Yesterday I finally got all my letters from my L O. They were marked August 16th but he been writing since the 13th. He told me someone tried to stab a C O but the Officer had a vest on but they still remain on lock down. He said it can lasts for months :-( so yes check the link that was posted to see if he moved. If he still there he could have written you but then again since he was leaving he may have gave away his stamps and paper. So it’s really a waiting game sad to say. I’m going through it too. !

Thanks that makes sense and I figured something wasnít right but glad to get the confirmation it was all just confusing since he was suppposed to be released to the halfway house I was getting worried because I kept checking the inmate locator and corrlinks and nothing and Iím sure he had it in his mind he was gone so have mostly everything away. Thanks again Iíll just keep checking all outlets of communication for any new news!
