My friend is in Coleman 2 and I have heard from him so its not locked down. Well his block isn't anyway. Do you think he might be in the hole? Or maybe on restriction?

Good question? The last time I heard from him was 7/31... afterwards it's like he just dropped off from the face of the earth. He stopped emailing ALL OF A sudden. No calls, nothing .

Just thought I'd pass the word; my fiance said USP Coleman II will be locked down Saturday evening until Tuesday due to the hurricane, visits have been canceled already.

Does anybody know the plans for the hurricane? Will they be safe or evacuated? Very concerned as I see the 3 hurricanes and Irma hitting almost all of Florida. I need my mind to be at ease. Please and thanks!!!

I was informed yesterday by my inmate at Coleman 2 that they plan to keep them locked down from Saturday-Tuesday. I know some of them have been trying to buy/save up extra food and water in preparation for this. That is all I know of atm. I am very worried also because they dont seem to be too concerned about incarcerated peoples lives. On the plus side, they are in a concrete building, so that is MUCH safer there. If I hear of anything else, I will also keep you posted.

I know it drives me nuts not being able to talk to him, but I guess for once I'm glad he is in a prison which is a cement building. Praying for everyones safety!

Agreed, for once it is actually a blessing they are locked in a cement building. Safest place they can be in Florida, since they cant leave.

My LO called earlier. He is in Coleman Medium. He informed of the lockdown the other day. I haven't heard from him since then. I assume the lockdown has began. I've said a prayer for all of those in the facility.

Luckily the hurricane weakened to a category 1 by the time it impacted the Coleman area, I'm sure the wind still did damage to surrounding areas, praying for all those impacted and hoping our guys get off LD as soon as its safe to do so

I have been following the hurricane all weekend. Do we know how much water and storm surge the Coleman area got? Was trying to figure that out this morning, but most broadcasts are about 9/11 now. Couldnt find anything specific on the web either.

Actually I just saw they got down graded to Tropical Storm Warning. Winds around 60mph, and they are only supposed to get a few more inches of rain. Also, the chance of tornadoes has lowered to not very likely. I feel like I can breathe a "half sigh of relief" now.

Yeah definitely a relief. Right now it's just cloudy and breezy near Coleman, the worst of it has moved towards Georgia now. Luckily Coleman isn't on the coast so they shouldn't need to worry about storm surge. I think there is just a river flood warning.

I am glad that it has moved on. I feel terrible for everyone, but I am glad that the guys should be fine and safe. I have been a nervous wreck all weekend long. I cant wait until the guys are able to get in contact with us and let us know they are ok. I am glad Coleman isnt on the coast, and the likely hood of tornadoes has decreased.
