Default Self reporting tomorrow to FPC Cumberland....what will it be like?

Good morning. Tomorrow I will be driving my love to fpc cumberland to self surrender? What will it be like for him? How is that camp? He has a 33 month sentence with a recommendation in psr and court order for rdap program. I calculated him going to a HWH in 13.5 months. Is this correct? If not can you help me figure out when this may happen. Just curious.....thank you and say a little prayer for us.

Welcome to Prison Talk. I'm sure your Dad will be fine in any bop minimum security camp as long as he follows the "inmate etiquitte". RDAP placement, and whether he will receive additional time off of his sentence is totally up to the bop. He should bring it up as soon as he meets with anyone on his unit team (counselor, case manager, camp manager) and each time thereafter until he receives a formal reply that 1. he is eligible for RDAP and 2. completing the program will result in extra time off of his sentence. Until that happens, predicting when he will go to a HWH is just a guess.

He will earn 176 days of good time (almost 6 months) off of his sentence, but anything else is decided by his unit team, with or without RDAP.
