Default Inmates asking for incoming inmate docket

My son will be going to Forrest Arkansas medium security prison soon and has heard that when you arrive you find people from your state (inmates stick together that way?)and then they require you to write the courthouse for your docket in which they will review. Has anyone heard of this? If so, what is the purpose? What are they looking for and what right do they have to even request that my son do that? Please advise and thanks for any help in this matter!

Requests for "paperwork" happen in some federal prisons, but much more often from groups you want to join. They are usually meant to discover sex offenders and snitches. He will have to decide for himself if he is confronted.

What's likely to happen or not happen if he says no?

That will be up to whoever is asking. What business is it of yours? is one possible reply.
