Default Affected by the Federal System- Oh Yes!

I am awaiting sentencing and will serve around 40 months. My husband was to serve the same sentence but took his life instead- almost a year ago. So now I am clinging on to Blakely "hopes" so I lose only 2 years of my 7 year-old sons life instead of three. The federal sentencing guidelines and the system itself have impacted my life and my sons in more than ways I could have ever imagined.

HI All, I have 2 sons effected by the Federal System, they both have been gone since 2001, and yes its very hard not having them around. But there's a light at the end of my tunnel. One is in a halfway house and the other will be home (praise God) in about 35 more days! Ladies stay strong!

Will soon be another statistic of the US Federal System. Already had a taste of Miami FDC and OK FTC, just waiting to be sentenced and see what the real thing is like.
Dan, keep thinking positive, all the ladies are here to support everyone.

Default I'm going

I'm going to a federal prison soon. Just don't know when or where should be getting a letter soon. They say I'll probably be visiting Martha. Don't know what to expect but I'm real scared at the moment. I've gotten alot of good advice from here today. Thanks to all of you.

Sarah-

I am headed to federal prison soon too. I have been waiting a long time to enter my plea- over a year, believe it or not. I just want to let you know this site has been a godsend. I have received so much support and it has reduced my anxiety level a ton. I only spend about a half an hour a day on the site but I am able to sleep much better at night. It has removed alot of the fear. Best of luck and I am sure you will make it through.

my man is in a fed prison and it is good to know that u all feel the same way i do and it is refreshing to know that u all stick by your men. mine has 11 yrs and has been in there for 8mths so far and it sucks. we really didn't fall in love until after he went but were real good friends and a little more before that. its a long time but hopefully with prayer and good behavior he will not have all that time. i do have a question though..... did your men find god while they are there or did they have god before? just a question, i think its great that they find god just don't know why this is how they have to do it.

He has been gone for 6 months and 11 days, he has 1806 days to go until Halfway House! 3 months ago I gave birth to our son, ALONE! Have I been affected? Unfortunately YES! And so has our child! Will we give up? NEVER! They can take his freedom, but they won't take our love, our souls! WE NEED TO STICK TOGETHER HERE!

I'm affected by the federal system. It will be 8 years of it before it's over . I know I would be considered lucky by a few here, and my heart goes out to those prisoners, and their families, n friends. They(the system) must get something from tearing families apart for so long. Today is Thanksgiving, I wondered all day how those "big wigs" who put these people away, sit down with their mom, dad, n kids, and actually eat, knowing they put some of these people away for 25, 50 , or life, alot of times just for minor stuff, and I feel it's heartless !Sentencing guidelines,Maby they think the public is happier that way, or maby they want to be voted for, or maby they feel powerfull, who knows. , but that is only my opinion. But I do have hope for Blakely, or Parole, or a miracle to happen.

My Son is at LSCI Allenwood. We go to see him next Friday. He will have his life back in less than a year, or if Blakely applies he would have been home by now.

They just got me for 10 years and my man for 27. I have been awaiting self surrender after a year in county, and he is still in custody. We can't even write to each other or call or visit. Definatley not making for a good recovery program for me while I am trying to get all our affairs in order before I leave on the 17th. Then I find out today that my atty has put in a motion to have me redesignated because I was not to be placed in a certain area of the country????? Well, who dropped the ball on that? I have a recommendation from the court, why did bop not pay any attention to that? Now I am supposed to be leaving on the 17th and can not go where they designated me to but have to wait for the judge to grant me a stay and redesignate me???? I am so frustrated and scared and confused. I would ask for any and all help and prayers that I could ask for at this very difficult time in my life. You all have been such a tremendous help to me and my family. Thanks and peace to all of you, yjd

I am with you on not being able to see the big picture. With 10 yrs myself to do and 27 for my husband, all I can do is get thru one day right now and wait to leave. I am so not able to see the big picture. I pray daily for all of us to get a better deal... My prayers are with you and yours.
Peace,
yjd

My daughter is at FPC Greenville - she was arrested at the age of 19 and will serve time until she is 21. Being affected by mandatory minimum sentences is tough. We are raising her 4 year old daughter.

I will be sentenced Feb 7, and will leave my wife and 3 & 4 year old daughters with my in-laws. It is scary and sad, but I am glad my in-laws will be watching out for them, as I am sure your daughter is glad you are taking care of her little girl. God bless you.

My man is in FDC Seatac a federal detention center in Seattle, Wa. He just got sentenced to 105 months and has been in for only 4! This pto site has been a bleesing for me. Especially since I cannot visit him. I come here almost every day when I can. Thank You All for sharing your experience, your stories, your heartbreak, your triumphs, and most of all your love. Lia
