Default My dog does not love me as much as *Dad*

Im cracking up right now. The dog is sitting on his *lounge* couch.
Staring holes in the back of my hubbys head just waiting for hub to notice him.

He really IS my dog but you would never know it.
Oh well. Its ok.
Chopped liver once again.

Awww. It's just their routine, I'm sure.

Husband says he wants to get a dog when he's home because "this one" is mine. Well, OK. I love dogs. Let's do it. But...in theory, I'll be home all day to train it and bond with it while you're at work and "this one" will be the older dog (already attached to me) to mentor it, so...you know. May the odds ever be in your favor, dude. But the second one is mine, too. lol
Actually, it's kinda neat to see the different relationships our dog has with each person in the house. Poor thing is last in the pack even behind the cat. But she's cool with it, mostly.

Hahahahaha I can so relate! My little Mexican sausage is my bestest friend, until we have company! We just spent a week down in Wellington at my best friends house and he bonded with her so much he basically ignored me lol. I was like “do you have a new mummy now? Are mummy’s pats shit compared to aunties?” Hahahahaha.

we are slowly getting into a new routine. He sleeps in our room on the floor (next to hub usually) He may or may not move to the couch.

Then hub wakes up (after me) and if pup is on the couch, hub goes and pets him, and loves on him.
then its time to go back to the couch unless I make any move toward hubby. Pup is our hall monitor. we cant go near each other without him making noise and running up with a toy and shoving it between us.

Then he gets fed. Sometime I do it, once in a while hub will.
Then its outside to do business, then back inside........where he may, or may not settle down. Its still dark outside.
He will often then go run up and down the hallway with his squeek toys.
Look at us like......hey! Its time to play?!! yes? walk?

No pup, its dark and cold right now. Later.
He will then wait til I get to the couch, climb up with me, and hang out til its time for a walk. If I take too long....he reminds me. Everytime I move.
Now?
no not now.
Now?

No not yet.
Now???????

oh jesus.....lets go.

It cracks me up.

Today tho is day 2 or 3 of rain. Yuck. Not looking forward to walking in it, but I'd better.
pup does not care if its raining.

spoiled puppy.

That's aweome though. My girl loves my boyfriend too. We just got back together in June and he's already claiming her as his daughter. She follows him everywhere.

When Trouble and Princess were alive you could definitely tell whose dog it was. Trouble acted more like my stepmother and Princess was dad's dog. When dad wasn't home Princess would sit with me in the chair. She would scratch at my door at 6 am so she could lay on my bed. She would try to have a stare down with my stepmother and want in her chair. Princess loved that chair. I miss those dogs so much. We did get some new puppies a week ago. Personally I think it is too soon but the house feels empty without dogs. It's too soon to see who will be attached to who.

God that was just awful what happened. I DO understand about the house being too quiet without dogs.
Did they go to a shelter to adopt or a breeder?
What kind of pups?

It may be too soon, but they should really help out.
So.......whats their names??????

We did go to the shelter but they only had big dogs. Dad looked on Craigslist. He never looks on there and they were selling 8 week old shih tzu puppies. So we drove about an hour and a half to see them. They were only 6 weeks old so we got both and both male. Yes I know they are young but they were going to take them to the pound. Their names are rascal and bear. If I could figure out how to post a pic I would. Also when they got trouble it was January 2 and seven years to the day they got these puppies

awwwwwwwwe. Love the names!
I did the same with our dog. I knew I wanted a border collie. I just happened to look in the paper and ta daaaaa. They had pups for sale out on a ranch near us.
I called, we went out *just to look* and Ricky was the last pup they were selling. (they did have at least one more......a little red/white female)
We brought him home and he was about 8 weeks I believe.

they sound so cute. Enjoy them DF!

You should probably bound with him more, give him treats, play fetch using his favorite dog toys, walk with him on a daily basis.

I do.
Walk at least once a day usually more. And take the *chuckit stick and ball to the park if its not a walk.

He just likes his *dad* better.
Its ok really. I think its rather funny.

Our routine of sitting on the couch only cuts it for so long. haha. He's a demanding little cuss sometimes

Other thing Ive noticed with him is.......he is much more vocal than he ever used to be.

well besides when he and i are on the couch and I pat his backside.....if i stop, he looks at me and sort of grunts. So I do it some more, stop and he grunts.

He also makes alot of noise if he's mauling one of his squeeky toys.

Now his latest trick is.....barking at the bedroom door. Behind the door?
Some of his toys that we put there so he wont ruin them too badly.
Mostly its the plastic balls.......with little spiky things on them to supposedly keep his teeth clean.
