Default Waiting.... Ugh!

So this waiting on a bed to open up at the Work Release place is going to kill me. His ERD was yesterday and he did make parole, so as of April 24th he can walk out of those doors at any time, but we have been told the wait is 30-60 days for a bed. So knowing he could be out as of next week but won't be is making me so angry and sad and mad. GRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!!

Know it is coming. Unfortunately, you can't control it.

Thanks for the encouragement! I'm trying to be patient but it's killing me. He's been down 17.5 yrs already. I want him out of there. LOL!

It has to be frustrating. We imagine the wonderful fairy tale ending. Haha! Why would they make it simple and easy? You will be dealing with other frustrations, so you are getting a little practice in patience.

Thanks yes it will. I work three jobs in the summer and I really only have enough time to work eat and sleep and see him once every two weeks. It goes by in the blink of an eye. Just can't wait.

Sorry Iíve been M.I.A. Itís quarter end at work so we are busy and Iíve been exhausted. We found out he is #82 on the list but that really doesnít help because we donít know #82 out of how many. And they release and receive guys daily around there so that number will continue to change. But from the way that my honey talks it sounds like he is not expecting it to be until late May early June.

On a brighter note I have a birthday party to go to tonight at my favorite bar which I havenít been to in months so I am super excited to get out of the house and have some adult time away from my crazy three year-old and all the worrying and missing my man.

So he called me this morning at work (which he never does so I knew he had news) to tell me he can be out in like 2 weeks if he wants to go to a work release in Ft Dodge. This is great news because he can hurry up and start this program so he can be done with the program in time to go to school in August which is his goal. But it’s bittersweet because that place is about an hour and 45 minutes away from me and his family. The one that’s here in the same town with me and his family is a 3 to 6 month wait. So now he has a choice to make. I am 99% sure he will take the program where he can be out in two weeks and that’s fine since the ultimate goal is just to get him out and started on his journey but it does throw a monkeywrench in all my plans to be close to him when it comes time for him to need transportation to and from work and to be able to go pick up necessities etc. etc. I guess this is where I need to continue to be patient and just deal with the fact that he is still one step closer to home, it just may not be the big step that we were hoping for right away. I will report back after I talk to him tonight and find out his decision.

I hope it works out. Sometimes plans don't go exactly the way we qant, but end up better than we expected. This could be a blessing in disguise.

My first time doing this with my husband he got a detainer put on two days before release so the county picked him up. I was sick and got out the hospital morning he got released from county his best friend picked him up, I was supposed to have done a bunch of stuff like get us an apartment gotten him clothes everything was a big mess. So we just had to wing it!!! My Dad had a bunch of shorts and Polo shirts that were to big we shopped for a bit and got a weekly place till we could get an apartment. It wasn't in our plan and it was horrible at the time but we had fun and it worked out in the end. Honestly we laughed at the clothes he came home in so much he looked like a clown/rap star!!!LMAO I wish I'd gotten a picture. At the time everything seemed to be falling apart but really neither one of us would have changed what happened if we could. Looking back now we had some of the most fun winging it so to speak! So you kinda have to just make the best out of a bad situation. And if this is the worst then your lucky!!! Even though it is hard to deal with now, it could be one of the best things that happens for him and you.
