Default George W. Hill Correctional Facility aka Delaware County Correctional Facility

Hi,

Im a college student and I go to school in the city so I don't have a car. I was wondering if anyone know any van service or any person that drives people to GWH. Also if anyone can share anything they know about the prison that can really help. My husband is there and I did want to visit him before he went up state. Anything, anyone? Thanks.

You have to drive there in a vehicle. I don't know for sure if you could take a taxi there, my best guess would be that you can't. Hope this helps. I worked there for a while ago, glad i don't anymore!

Thanks but he's no longer there. So I don't have to visit that horrible place!

For the record: SEPTA has a bus stop right at the main entrance.

You have to be in a vehicle. There's no if, and's or buts. They just changed the rules so that they check your name, and have you wait in the car instead of waiting in the lobby in the actual prison. The person who drives you must have a license and if that person isn't on the list they have to drive off the premises and come back to pick you up. Its all sorts of complicated and inconvenient. The last time I was there they wear two hours behind and most people didn't even get to see their loved ones. I hope you do get to see your boyfriend soon. : )
