Default Connecticut woman seeks release after 27 years in prison

  • Bonnie Jean Foreshaw has been imprisoned for the past 27 years on a premeditated murder conviction for the 1986 killing of Joyce Amos, of Hartford.
  • Foreshaw was sentenced to 45 years in prison for the killing of Amos, whose unborn child also died.
  • She is set to be freed in August 2017 with credit for good behavior, but her lawyer is seeking her immediate release.
  • The 66-year-old Foreshaw, who is being held at the York women’s prison in East Lyme, will be at the hearing, and many of her supporters plan to attend.
  • Hartford State’s Attorney Gail Hardy, who didn’t hold the post when her office prosecuted Foreshaw, didn’t return a message seeking comment
