Question Can someone decipher this legalese regarding compassionate medical release?

Regarding compassionate medical release in Florida: The CMR is for the remainder of the inmate's sentence, without diminution of sentence for good behavior. ......If it is revoked due to health improvement, he will serve the balance of his sentence with credit for the time served on CMR and without forfeiture of any gain-time accrued prior to CMR.

It means the compassionate medical release (CMR) will be for the remainder of the sentence. If the inmates health improves enough to be reincarcerated they will give him credit for the time he was on CMR but he will serve out the remaining time on his sentence. So if he had fives years left on his sentence and was on medical leave for two years and went back due to health improvement he would serve a the remaining three years. There is also no good time given while he is on CMR but he won't lose any gain time he had before going on CMR.

Still not sure exactly what it means. For example, say he has served 12 years of a 15 year sentence but gets out in 6 months due to gain-time. Do they consider he has 3 years left? So if he goes back, will he have to serve the remainder of the 3 years or the 6 months?

I'm confused. Is he being released in 6 months due to gain time or CMR?
