Omfg we won.... but She's not home yet! Now Dec 17th, 2020
Found out today that my wife won early release and knocking off 54 months of her sentence! Tears, crazy laughter, and our daughter almost passing out! I can't even function. November 19th is now her release date! I can't believe we won!

We have been waiting for the right moment to ask for a commutation. We were aware through our lawyer that the governor was looking for candidates in the women's facility to cut loose. Non-violent, immaculate conduct, stable housing, and 50% through a sentence. Her sentence was absurd for property crimes. So, we put a 45 page presentation together. Covid definitely helped get this. Others have secured victories. There was never going to be a better time to do it.
I still can't believe it. To go from constant stress to an immediate overjoyment and hearing your spouse cry when she tries to act so tough inside, is about as out of body experience I've ever had. How quickly life can change with a snap of a finger. She earned it though. I am so proud of the work she did to fix her addiction and the root of it. To mentor other women who came in just like she did. Who I'm getting when I get to pick her up is not the same person who went in. It's not even close.
